Attention to details is the basic method of appreciating education. Every student has advantages and disadvantages, and even the most stubborn students have their shining points. Appreciating even the small advantages of students will stimulate their strong desire to learn. In teaching, the author once encountered something. A student with average academic performance scored 58 points in a small test. However, the author found that there was one question in the 58 points that no other student got right. The author grasped this point and praised him in class. He told everyone his own problem-solving ideas. Some students suddenly understood and gave them applause. The author promptly praised his unique problem-solving ideas and ability to analyze problems, and encouraged him that if he could view his abilities correctly, his performance would definitely improve even more. After that, every time I took political classes, when I asked questions, he always looked at me expectantly, hoping to give him a chance to express himself. His learning attitude has really changed a lot from before. With the interest or motivation to learn, it is natural for your grades to improve.
Seeking truth from facts is the basic principle of appreciation education. Although most students are happy with teachers’ appreciation, they have their own minds after all and can correctly identify whether the teacher’s appreciation for them is in line with reality. They will not respond to unrealistic appreciation. It always feels unpleasant, and may even be interpreted as sarcasm or sarcasm. Many facts show that seeking truth from facts and appropriate appreciation can make students feel excited and happy.
Appreciation education must be directional and have clear appreciation content. Appreciation education must have a clear purpose and direction. In schools, we often hear teachers saying to students, "Not bad", "You are very smart", etc. Such "appreciation" statements have no clear direction. If they are just "standard" language under the teacher's awareness of "appreciation", they will not have the expected effect.
Appreciative education does not oppose criticism
"Appreciative education not only allows criticism, but also allows for more bold criticism. The secret is that 'scholars can be killed but not humiliated'. It should be 'valued and respected enough'" Criticize under the premise of "friends" (Zhou Hongyu) Appreciation should be moderate. Do not let students grow up in a honeypot of appreciation. Blind and excessive appreciation will make students blindly confident and arrogant, and they will not be able to withstand any setbacks and blows. Criticize when it is time to criticize, but pay attention to the method when criticizing, point out the "flaws" in a timely and appropriate manner, and the tone should be tactful and sincere, not only to help them realize their shortcomings, but also to protect their self-esteem. Respect students, believe in students, encourage students, make them use their strengths and avoid weaknesses, so that they can keenly feel the teacher's love and trust in them from the teacher's attitude, and thus be confident in themselves.
Teachers establishing awareness of appreciation education is the beginning of implementing appreciation education. Only the formation of this awareness is conducive to the formation and sublimation of this concept. Appreciation education is not only an educational concept, but also an educational method. Its application in teaching is of great significance for the comprehensive implementation of the new curriculum.
