The motto of the national emblem of India
National emblem of India: The design of the national emblem of India comes from the stone carving at the top of Ashoka's stone pillar in Peacock Dynasty. Three golden lions stand on a circular pedestal, symbolizing confidence, courage and strength. Around the stylobate, there are four kinds of animals guarding all directions: elephants in the east, horses in the south, cows in the west and lions in the north. There is a Falun carved between the guards and the animals. Under the pattern, there is a motto written in Sanskrit from the ancient Indian holy book, "Truth is king".
