The origin of the name of Bailizhou
Because the middle reaches of the Yangtze River flow through the plain area, the river channel is wide and the water flow is slow, so the Jingjiang River, which is known as the nine-bend ileum, appears. Below Jingjiang River, except for some areas near Honghu Lake, the river is relatively straight, and the rest is relatively curved. This has provided favorable conditions for the development of Jiang Xinzhou. Besides Tianxinzhou and Baishazhou near Wuhan, there are Bailizhou, Mayangzhou, Sanbazhou and Wuguizhou in Jingjiang reach of Jiang Xinzhou. Among all these sandbars, Bailizhou has the largest area. Bailizhou is located in the south of zhijiang city, Hubei Province. The Yangtze River is divided into two tributaries to the west of Bailizhou, with the main stream in the north (left) and the tributary in the south (right). After driving eastward for more than 30 kilometers, meet near the new gate. Bailizhou covers an area of about 2 13 square kilometers, and more than 70 kilometers of banks surround the whole continent. It is said that people used to think that walking around the periphery of the whole continent was more than 65,438+000 miles, so it was called "Bailizhou".
