Baolin Temple
Baolin Temple is located about 1 km west of Chunqiu Yancheng Heritage Park. The temple was built by Emperor Xiaomin of the Northern Zhou Dynasty (557) and was named Fahua. It was renamed in the Song Dynasty. During the Chongning period (1102~1106), it was destroyed by troops. In the third year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1405), the Buddhist temple was rebuilt by the eminent monk Weixin. In the eighth year of Bingyin of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty (1513), Jinling monks Foyuan and Fasheng raised funds to build the front and rear halls. At its peak, there were 1,408 palaces, which were spectacular and full of incense.
