The most important thing in Taoism is to follow fate. If you must have a relationship, you must fulfill it, fulfill the way of humanity and the way of heaven. This is the foundation of Taoist practice.
All fate in the human world has been exhausted. This is liberation. As the saying goes, practice in the world, achieve positive results after transcending the world, and fulfill all fate, but do not pursue all fate. Therefore, when Taoists enter the world, everything still depends on fate.
Taoism believes:
1. Men and women are equal and both men and women can become Taoist. "Tao", as the highest existence that transcends all things, treats all things in the world impartially and equally. Laozi said: "Heaven and earth are not benevolent, and treat all things as stupid dogs" (Chapter 5 of "Tao Te Ching"), that is, heaven and earth have no preference and allow all things to grow naturally.
2. Men belong to yang and women belong to yin. Yin and yang complement each other and pay equal attention to yin and yang. Therefore, both men and women can practice Taoism.
3. The harmony between men and women is the law of heaven and earth. Taoism advocates "integrating yin and yang, extending destiny, and communicating with gods." The main purpose of its sexual concept is to maintain health and achieve immortality. It regards sex as one of the means of personal cultivation and transcendence of life, and requires that personal sexual behavior should first and mainly Subordinate to the fundamental goals of maintaining health and attaining enlightenment and becoming immortal. Under the guidance of this goal, they rarely mention husband and wife and marriage, but focus on the union of the sexes and the form of sexual intercourse. They insist on the sacred, mysterious, magnificent and equal concepts of sex, and place the relationship between men and women and sexual behavior at a very high position. The first sentence of "Dongxuanzi", a Taoist classic written in the Tang Dynasty, is: "Human beings are born with all things, but human beings are the most precious. The best thing for people is the sexual desire. The laws of heaven and earth govern yin and yang" (quoted from Song Shugong's " "Ancient Chinese Housekeeping and Health Preservation Collection"), which means that among all things in the world, human beings are the most precious; and there is nothing that human beings yearn for and value more than sexual desire. Human sexual activities are based on heaven and earth and follow the principles of yin and yang. They believe that sexual intercourse can not only complete the task of human reproduction, but also restore the vitality of sexual intercourse, especially men, and regard sex as a way to maintain harmony and unity with nature. In order to realize this cultural ideal and goal of cultivation and health preservation, Taoism has also created many exquisite sexual intercourse techniques and standard Fangzhongshu. ——So in short, Taoism recognizes the relationship between men and women, and naturally there are standards for balancing the judgment of what is too much and what is not enough. Different schools of practice have different performances. Some of them cannot talk about men and women until they have reached a certain level of cultivation, and can only seek a Taoist partner after they have reached a certain level. Some of them let it go, and so on.
