As long as you have Buddha in your heart, it is okay to eat meat and drink alcohol.
From "Jigong Li Xiuyuan" by Zen Master Daoji (Jigong Living Buddha) "Wine and meat pass through the intestines and remain in the heart of the Buddha. If the world Learning from me is like entering the path of the devil."
First of all, this is what Zen Master Daoji said, but it is sad that people forget the last two sentences. "If people in the world follow me, it will be like entering the devil's path." There is such a story in the source of this article, which is written like this. During the Ming Dynasty, there were stories of practitioners eating meat and drinking alcohol to save lives.
At the end of the Ming Dynasty, Zhang Xianzhong was in chaos, bandits were rampant, killing and looting everywhere, and the people were displaced and fled everywhere. In Mount Emei, Sichuan, bandits were plundering, and a group of people fled into a temple in the mountains in panic. The abbot of the temple was compassionate and took in the refugees. Unexpectedly, bandits chased into the temple, robbed property and killed people. The abbot knew the bandits and begged not to harm the people. No matter what the conditions were, as long as he could do it, the abbot was willing to bear it, but he asked to let these people go.
The bandit had been favored by the abbot and was embarrassed to refuse, so he came up with a strange idea to make the abbot retreat in spite of the difficulties. So the bandit took out some wine and meat and said to the abbot: "Monk, my condition is very simple. As long as you eat these wine and meat, I will let these people go and never make a mistake." Everyone was in an uproar! This is a great plan! If a practitioner drinks or eats meat, breaks the fast, or breaks the precepts, he will be cast into the realm of animals and hungry ghosts, and suffer immeasurable suffering.
The abbot picked up the wine glass and said calmly: "I will replace the tea with wine, and everyone will drink tea." After that, he drank it all. Then he picked up a piece of meat and said, "I will use this meat for cooking. Please." After saying this, he ate it all. The face does not change. The bandit was shocked, but he had to let everyone go because he had said it first.
This abbot is in a dangerous situation and has no choice but to sacrifice his true path and break fasts to save others. He is not afraid of falling into the evil realm and suffering. The Buddha said: "If I don't go to hell, who will go to hell?" It is the Bodhisattva spirit of Mahayana Buddhism. This abbot can be said to be a truly compassionate person.
Extended information:
Monastics have been abstaining from alcohol and meat since ancient times, but Jigong broke everyone's concept, and Jigong is also a famous person all over the world. A monk who drinks wine and eats meat. Historically, Jigong was a monk who drank wine and ate meat, but he was also a monk who loved helping people among the people.

The following sentence is: If people in the world follow me, it will be like entering the devil’s way. What he means is that if you believe in Buddhism, you should have As if you believe in Buddhism, your attitude and mentality must be corrected. You can't have a selfish heart. The true belief is to have your own bottom line in your heart and never exceed or lose this bottom line.
Jigong is actually telling us that we must have our own ideas and bottom lines when doing things. No matter what we do, we cannot rely on our words, but we must have a clear mirror in our hearts.
All sentient beings have Buddha-nature, which does not decrease in the ordinary world and does not increase in the holy world. However, in the position of an ordinary person, the afflictions are covered and the Buddha nature cannot be manifested. If you kill animals and eat meat, you will suffer the consequences of getting sick and shortening your life. In the next life, you will have to be an animal to pay your life debt.
Only saints with great supernatural powers eat meat under certain circumstances to save sentient beings, in order to cover up the origin of the saint, and ordinary people cannot understand the hidden meaning. Jigong ate two dead pigeons and could spit out two live pigeons. If others can do it, they can eat meat. If they can't, they should still practice Buddhism.
