2. Zhi Yueying: firm belief and persistent pursuit

In Baiyangshan Village, Zhi Yueying is accompanied by a pair of eyes eager for knowledge. She teaches children to read and write, sing and dance, and know the world. But the poor mountain village is not a paradise, and the education in the mountain village is even more backward.

However, the difficult conditions did not frustrate Zhi Yueying. When she first joined the work, her salary was only a few tens of dollars. Some children couldn't afford the tuition, and parents wouldn't let their children go to school. Zhiyueying often paid the tuition for her students, and sometimes she didn't have enough money to buy rice and food. She had to borrow it, but her family didn't understand and advised her to leave quickly. She always smiled and said, "Life will be better!"

Later, Zhi Yueying was appointed as the principal, which made her shoulder heavier and her work busier. She should not only undertake the task of education and teaching, but also do a good job in the management and service of teaching points.

The school in the poor mountain village is in tatters. She bought materials, repaired the classroom, kept the biting cold wind in winter out of the window, and the students were warm in the classroom. There is no shuttle bus in the school. Every time the school starts, the children's textbooks and chalk are carried up the mountain by a teacher and several other colleagues who walk more than 2 miles on the mountain road. After a trip, they feel backache and leg pain, exhausted and tender.

Parents in mountain villages prefer boys to girls, and don't allow girls to study. Teachers go door to door, have heart-to-heart talks with parents, and mobilize parents to send their children to school, so as not to let a mountain village child drop out of school at home.

My mother came to see her at school from her hometown, and when she saw her daughter walking more than 2 miles to meet herself at the foot of the mountain, she was deeply distressed. Zhiyueying said to her mother, "The mountains are good, the water is good, and the villagers are simple and kind."

Mother said distressfully, "Just say yes!" She just looked at her mother and smiled. In fact, her heart is full of deep guilt for her loved ones. She doesn't want to enjoy her family's happiness, but she is more willing to spread her love in this green mountain and water, so that this love can take root and bear the green hope of a barren mountain village.

3. Yang Kezhang: Never give up

On the evening of May 29, 215, a fire broke out in a residential building in Guangxi, and three people were trapped. After rescuing a two-year-old girl in a residential building surrounded by fire, he groped for a way out, but accidentally fell from the fifth floor in the thick smoke. When his comrades found him on the first floor, he still held the child tightly in his arms. In the end, the child was saved, but he gave his life at the age of 27. He is Yang Kezhang, instructor of Mingshan Squadron of Yulin Public Security Fire Brigade, Guangxi.

4. Huang Dafa: Dafa Canal

Huang Dafa, 83, is the honorary village party secretary of tuanjie village, Pingzheng Gelao Township, Bozhou District, Zunyi City, Guizhou Province. The place where he lived used to be Caowangba, which is 125 meters above sea level. Due to the serious water shortage, the production and life of local people are very difficult. After Huang Dafa was elected as the captain of Caowangba Brigade in 1958, he made a promise, "We must try our best to get water and let everyone eat rice."

since the 196s, he has led the masses to carve a 9,4-meter-long "life canal" on the precipice in 36 years, around three mountains, over three precipices and through three dangerous cliffs, relying on hoes, steel drills, hammers and hands, thus realizing the villagers' dream for thousands of years and ending the history of "dripping water is as expensive as oil" in Caowangba village. Huang Dafa is also known as the "contemporary foolish old man", and the local people named this canal "Dafa Canal" after him.

5. Huang Danian: After deep-sea exploration

returned to China, Huang Danian was selected as the person in charge of the "Research and Experiment Project of Key Instruments and Equipment for Deep-sea Exploration".

Huang Danian led the team to create a number of "China firsts", which filled a number of technical gaps for China's "exploring the sky, exploring the ground and diving into the sea" and made outstanding contributions to the exploration of deep resources and the construction of national defense security.
