On September 9, 1976, Chairman Mao, the great leader of New China, passed away. On the 18th, Chairman Mao’s memorial service was held grandly in Tiananmen Square. Millions of people cried and the whole country mourned.
Later, when sorting out Chairman Mao’s belongings, I found a worn-out suitcase with two shirts, a towel and a military cap neatly placed inside.
These items are the relics of Mao Anying, who has been sacrificed for 26 years. When the guard opened the suitcase, you can imagine how tormented and tormented the lonely chairman was as he stroked his son's relics in the stillness of the night.
Mao Anying suffered a lot since childhood
Mao Anying’s childhood was extremely difficult. In that turbulent era, Mao Anying traveled around with Chairman Mao and Yang Kaihui since she was a child.
When Mao Anying was 8 years old, Mao Zedong was not with him and his mother. On his birthday, Yang Kaihui was unfortunately arrested and imprisoned for going back to make him a bowl of longevity noodles. In order to better control Yang Kaihui, the enemy He was also put in a cell. In the cell, he saw the viciousness of the enemy and saw his mother being tortured in all kinds of ways.
After Yang Kaihui's death, the underground party organization arranged for Mao Anying and his two younger brothers to come to Shanghai. Later, the underground party organization was destroyed, and the three brothers had no one to take care of them. They lived on the streets for six years. During the process, their younger brother Mao Anlong also got separated.
After six years of wandering on the street, he finally returned to the chairman.
In 1936, Mao Anying was arranged to study in the Soviet Union, and later participated in the Soviet Patriotic War.
In 1946, Mao Anying returned to Yan'an and took the initiative to join the Communist Party of China. In compliance with Chairman Mao's request to "make up for the class at the Labor University", he lived and did farm work with the "famous labor heroes" of the time.
A few years later, Mao Anying went to Beijing Machinery Factory, where no one knew his identity or his experience. In 1950, Mao Anying married Liu Siqi. On their wedding day, Chairman Mao gave him a fur coat as a gift that he had worn when attending the Chongqing talks.
Uncle Peng, just let me go.
In 1950, the Korean War broke out. Peng Dehuai took office as the commander and political commissar of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army and set off for North Korea.
On the evening of October 7, Mao Zedong held a family dinner at home to see off Peng Dehuai, who was about to take office in Northeast China.
The banquet was held in the "Juxiang Bookstore", which served as Mao Zedong's study, office and living room. There were only three people present: Mao Zedong, his son Mao Anying and Peng Dehuai.
During the chat at the dinner table, Mao Anying knew that Peng Dehuai was about to leave for North Korea. "Uncle Peng, aren't you recruiting soldiers? I will be the first to sign up as a volunteer!" Mao Anying said with a loud smile. Peng Dehuai's face was filled with astonishment. Mao Anying and Liu Siqi had just gotten married and were now at the Beijing Machinery Factory. They were indispensable talents in the factory. In addition, Chairman Mao had already made too many sacrifices for the Chinese revolution. Fighting on the battlefield was no game. A slight mistake would mean sacrifice. How could he let Mao Anying take risks on the battlefield again?
"Chairman, you have appointed me as the commander. How can I go to the chairman's house to recruit troops?" Peng Dehuai said implicitly.
The chairman was silent.
Seeing that Peng Dehuai was having trouble making a decision, Mao Anying said anxiously, "Uncle Peng, just let me go."
At this time, Mao Zedong said, "Dehuai, just let me go." Let him go”. After that, the chairman raised his glass and said, "This glass of wine will see you off and wish you success."
Mao Anying went to Korea to fight together as Peng Dehuai's secretary and translator.
Only a few central leaders know Mao Anying's true identity.
Died in bombing by enemy planes
After crossing the Yalu River with the Volunteer Army Headquarters, Mao Anying served as the translator in the headquarters office. Dayu Cave, where the Volunteer Army Headquarters is located, is a famous local gold mine and is quite eye-catching.
There were dense telegraph signals around and above the headquarters. After conducting wireless telegram reconnaissance, the U.S. military concluded that this was an important command center for the Volunteer Army.
At that time, the battlefield situation was very tense and the fighting was fierce. During that time, enemy planes bombed all day long.
At about 9 o'clock on November 25, 1950, Mao Anying had just returned to the office from the cave where he was resting. At about 11 o'clock, a shrill air defense horn suddenly sounded. Cheng Pu, deputy director of the office and deputy director of the operations department, staff officers Xu Muyuan and Mao Anying, and others rushed out of the "General Peng War Room" and took cover nearby.
After a while, four bombers flew from the south, quickly passed over the headquarters, and flew north. People estimated: "Probably going to bomb the Yalu River Bridge again!" So Mao Anying and others returned to the war room.
However, the cunning enemy plane quietly turned back. At the moment when these napalm bombs landed and exploded, dozens of napalm bombs thrown by enemy planes fell around the office. Two guards, staff officers Cheng Pu, Xu Muyuan and Peng Dehuai, escaped from the sea of ????fire, but left the door. Mao Anying, who was further away, did not run out. "Except for Comrade Anying and Gao Ruixin who did not run out, all the staff in the office have escaped safely."
Peng Dehuai turned pale after hearing this and said nothing. He came to the scene of the accident and looked at the charred corpses with a heavy heart. Mao Anying's body could not be identified at the time, and only the remains of the watch he was wearing were confirmed to be him.
At that time, except for a few senior leaders of the Volunteer Army, no one knew that he was Mao Anying, and no one knew that he was the son of Chairman Mao Zedong.
Then Peng Dehuai personally sent a telegram to the Central Committee in the name of the Volunteer Army Headquarters. Mr. Peng hesitated to write the short telegram for more than an hour.
In war, there will always be sacrifices.
After the Central Military Commission received the telegram of Mao Anying's death, Chairman Mao was in poor health at the time. According to Zhou Enlai's instructions, Mao Zedong was temporarily concealed, fearing that he would not be able to withstand such a mental blow after he found out.
January 2, 1951, New Year’s Day had just passed.
Premier Zhou came over with a telegram, which explained in detail how Mao Anying died on the Korean battlefield, and also asked Chairman Mao to express his condolences.
Chairman Mao knew that his son Mao Anying had died. Extremely saddened to receive this sad news.
Chairman Mao read the telegram of two to three hundred words for half an hour, during which he smoked countless cigarettes. After reading it, he could not speak for a long time, "It has been more than a month since this happened. Why did you tell me!"
Premier Zhou replied slowly: "I'm afraid you can't accept it..." "It's nothing. In war, there will always be sacrifices." Chairman Mao's. His tone was sonorous and powerful, and he devoted all his efforts to the Chinese revolution.
At this time, no one could understand his heart. What would he have thought of?
After Premier Zhou left, Chairman Mao locked himself in the house. After not coming out for a long time, he took up pen and wrote this paragraph:
On February 11, 1951, Peng Dehuai returned to Beijing to report on his work. Facing the increasingly aging chairman, Peng Dehuai felt extremely guilty.
When Peng Dehuai expressed guilt for Mao Anying's death, Mao Zedong remained silent for a long time and patted Peng Dehuai on the shoulder
Mao Anying's sacrifice became an obstacle that Peng Dehuai could not overcome in his life. We are well aware that Mao Anying's sacrifice is a huge loss to our party, especially to Chairman Mao.
You must live well
A few days after Mao Anying died, Chiang Kai-shek in Taiwan already knew the news.
At eight o'clock in the evening on November 28, 1950, after dinner, Chiang Kai-shek used the excuse to send Soong Meiling away and took his son Jiang Jingguo to the study.
Chiang Kai-shek looked at his son with a solemn expression and asked Chiang Ching-kuo: "Have you heard of something that happened a few days ago? Mao Anying was bombed by a US military plane on the battlefield in Korea. "Dead"
After hearing this, Jiang Ching-kuo's face was filled with astonishment. He never imagined that Mao Zedong's son would go to the front line and die on the front line.
No one in the world wants anything to happen to their children, and Chiang Kai-shek is no exception.
After Chiang Ching-kuo left the room, Chiang Kai-shek could not sleep all night long. Now that I am in Taiwan, is the current revolutionary situation a threat to my son's life? Thousands of miles away, I was once chased and beaten to death by myself. How would Mao Zedong, who later defeated himself and founded New China, react when he heard the news?
Today, Mao Anying’s body is buried in the North Korean Chinese People’s Volunteer Army Martyrs Cemetery.
