Known as "China's first city, Xiangyang, a battleground for military strategists."
The origin of Xiangyang name:
1, Western Han Dynasty: Xiangyang County was founded in the early years, named after the county is located in the Yang of Xiangshui (now Nanqu), which governs the areas south of Hanshui, east and north of Zhonglu County.
2. Eastern Han Dynasty: Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty belonged to Nanjun, and Jingzhou was the secretariat of history.
Wang Mang was renamed "Xiangyang".
When Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty resumed his original name, he still belonged to Jingzhou Nanjun.
In the early years of Xian Di Pingnian, Liu Biao, the secretariat of Jingzhou, moved to Xiangyang.
In the 13th year of Jian 'an (208), Cao Cao controlled the northern part of Nanjun, established Xiangyang County, and administered Xiangyang City.
At this point, the name of Xiangyang City was formally established.
