1. This is not an obsession. The Buddha has been teaching the Dharma for forty-nine years, but he said in the Diamond Sutra: "If someone says that the Tathagata has something to say, it is slandering the Buddha." The Buddha talks but does not explain, and saves but does not save.
2. Buddhas and Bodhisattvas do not abide in birth and death, nor do they abide in Nirvana. The Buddha said in the "Diamond Sutra": "Infinite and boundless sentient beings can be annihilated, but in fact there are no living beings who can be annihilated."
3. There is a famous saying in the "Diamond Sutra": "There is no dwelling place to live." "Heart" is exactly what it means to do everything to save everyone but without attachment. The "Sixth Patriarch's Altar Sutra" records that the Sixth Patriarch Huineng became enlightened as soon as he heard this sutra.
4. Practice to cut off the "self-attachment of people" (continuous "self-attachment to Dharma") and you will become an Arhat. It cannot be moved." The Eighth-level Bodhisattva has cut off all troubles and attachments such as "self-attachment to people" and "self-attachment to Dharma", and has no more attachments to speak of, let alone the Buddha? Of course there is no obsession.
