"Wealth can't be lewd, poverty can't be moved, and power can't be bent." From Mencius Teng Wengong.
These are the three standards of being a man put forward by Mencius. Among them, "poor can't move" is particularly important. Its modern explanation can be translated as: wealth and prosperity can't disturb his mind, poverty and lowliness can't change his strong will, and the threat of power violence can't make him yield. Only by doing these three things can a gentleman be considered a real gentleman.
