Interpretation: The commander-in-chief of the three armies can still take it away, but the wishes of the people cannot be taken away. Without the commander-in-chief of the three armies, it would be a great defeat, but if a person loses his ambition, it is like a ship sailing in the vast sea losing its position. Such a life must be a mess and a failure.
2. I am determined to learn five out of ten, stand at thirty, not be confused at forty, know my destiny at fifty, listen to my ears at sixty, and do what I want at seventy, without overstepping the bounds.
Interpretation: Confucius devoted his life to the revival of Zhou Li, and his words and deeds are interpreting the pragmatic spirit of Zhou Li. At the age of fifteen, Confucius was determined to study. By the time he was thirty, he had been able to stand on his own feet and believed more firmly in his beliefs. At the age of forty, he has been able to integrate what he has learned all his life without being confused. At the age of fifty, he no longer insisted on letting nature take its course. At the age of sixty, he was able to listen to different opinions. It's just right to enter the realm at the age of 70 and do whatever you want.
3, friends are eager, brothers are easy to change.
Interpretation: With friends encouraging and urging each other and brothers caring for each other, this person will not feel isolated whether studying or doing things. No wonder Confucius said, "It's a pleasure to have friends from afar." Ceng Zi said: "A gentleman makes friends with his words and helps others with his friends." It can be seen that people with lofty ideals cannot do without friends and brothers.
4, see no evil, don't listen to evil, don't say evil, don't move.
Interpretation: Sensitive ears are for listening, good eyesight is for seeing, and listening and seeing are for being smart, which shows the importance of listening and seeing to a person. Confucius emphasized "see no evil, don't listen to evil" here, that is, he told us not to look at what we shouldn't see or listen to what we shouldn't listen to. Only in this way can we keep our intelligence, our mind be clear as water, then our words and deeds will be timely, and the purpose of "Don't speak up until evil, don't move until evil" will be achieved. If you can do this often, you won't lose yourself and you will definitely go further.
5, don't be swayed by considerations of gain and loss, others don't know, you can't do it yourself.
Interpretation: "wine is not afraid of the depth of the alley" and "gold always shines" Once you have set your goal, don't feel depressed because you didn't become famous for a while. Understand that others don't understand themselves because they are not competent enough. If you are really a great talent, you will be famous in the world one day.
6, the gentleman seeks the Tao and does not seek food. Farming is also among them, and learning is also among them. A gentleman worries about Tao but not poverty.
Interpretation: A gentleman plans and imagines for the ultimate ideal "Tao", not for a temporary meal. After hard work, sometimes I can't help being hungry, but if I succeed in my studies, it's not a problem to earn some salary. Therefore, a gentleman should worry about the ultimate ideal "Tao" and forge ahead, not be limited by poverty, let alone worry about poverty.
7. It is reasonable to wear a robe and not be ashamed of wearing a fox! Why not ask for it if you don't ask for it?
Interpretation: Confucius said: "You are not ashamed to stand with a man wearing a fox fur coat in a shabby silk cotton robe. This can only be done by Zhong You. " What's wrong with not being jealous or greedy? "It is often said that there is a poetic soul in the belly, and a person's cultivation is from the inside out. Those who feel inferior because of poor clothes are actually more empty inside!
8. Wen Chao Dao, you can die at night.
Interpretation: Life is like morning dew. In the vast universe, people seem too small, and in the long history of mankind, people's lives seem too short. Therefore, the pursuit of the ultimate "Tao" is more meaningful and rare. So "listen in the morning and die at night." Even if this life is short, it will not live up to youth.
9. Zi Zaichuan said: "The deceased is like a husband! Don't give up day and night
Interpretation: When Confucius saw the river flowing eastward, he realized that the passage of time, like running water, was gone forever. They never stopped, and they followed each other day and night. On the "conveyor belt" of time, we either move forward passively or keep pace with the times harmoniously. In any case, it is best to grasp every moment and be yourself.
10, the benevolent does not worry, the knower is not confused, and the brave is not afraid.
Interpretation: There is no worry, no fear, no confusion. Only the benevolent, the brave and the wise can achieve this state. Confucius is such a benevolent, wise and brave man. He once said modestly, "I am seventy years old, but I don't want to go beyond the limit." The most sacred thing is that after seventy years old, Confucius dared to say that he had reached the state of carefree, fearless, perplexed, elegant, calm and free.
