This famous saying means that people with virtue must be accompanied by friends. In other words, as long as we do good things, we will have friends to help us, and as long as we do bad things, we will have friends to remind us. Therefore, only by doing good deeds and doing the right things can we get real friends.

Confucius (5565438 BC+April 479 BC165438 BC+479 BC), surnamed Kong, was born in Taocheng, Lu in the Spring and Autumn Period, and his ancestral home (now Xiayi County, Henan Province). He was a great thinker in ancient China.

Confucius initiated private lectures and advocated benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom and faith. There are 3,000 disciples, including 72 sages. He led some disciples around the world for fourteen years. After the death of Six Classics in his later years, his disciples and re-disciples recorded the words, deeds and thoughts of Confucius and his disciples and compiled The Analects. This book is regarded as a Confucian classic.

The life of the character

Confucius' ancestor was Shang Tang, an aristocrat in Yi Li (now Xiayi County, Henan Province) in Song Dynasty and the founding monarch of Shang Dynasty. After the rebellion of the three kingdoms in the early Zhou Dynasty, in order to appease the nobles and future generations of the Shang Dynasty, the Duke of Zhou appointed his younger brother Wei to establish the Song Kingdom in Shangqiu and worship Yin Shang as emperor. After Wei's death, his brother succeeded to the throne and was the fourteenth ancestor of Confucius.

The sixth ancestor got Kong's family and was Kong's father. Kong was a doctor in the Song Dynasty. He used to be a fu, and his fief was in the territory of the Song Dynasty. Later, he was killed by Taizai Huadu in the civil strife in the imperial court. Jin Mu and Jin Mu, the fathers of Confucius' father Jiazi, prayed for their father and their son Kong Fang's uncle. Uncle Liang Gan, the grandson of Uncle Kong Fang, is the father of Confucius. Shu Lianggan fled to Lu (now Qufu City, Shandong Province) to escape the war in Song Dynasty. His official position is Dr. Joy.
