Ant mutiny
Tongguan is the gateway to the capital Chang 'an, where the situation is dangerous and the road is narrow. Tang Xuanzong sent a general Ge to lead a heavy guard. The rebel Cui Ganyou was stationed outside Tongguan for half a year and couldn't get in. Tongguan defenders light a fire at the beacon tower every night as a signal of peace. The beacon tower in Guanli received the signal, and they also fired "peace cannons" all the way to Chang' an to reassure the people of Chang' an.
The rebels can't attack Tongguan, but there are contradictions within the Tang Dynasty in Guanli. Geshuhan advocated sticking to Tongguan and waiting for the opportunity; Guo Ziyi and Li Guangbi also wrote a letter to Tang Xuanzong from Hebei front. They asked for troops to go north and attack An Lushan's lair, john young. If you want to defend Tongguan, don't go out. However, Premier Yang opposes it. Someone said to Yang, "Now all the heavy troops are in the hands of Gershohan. If Geshuhan wins and returns to Chang 'an, your position as prime minister will be lost. " I also know that I am the unpopular prime minister of Yang Zui. Hearing these words, he was even more afraid. Just before Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, he said that the rebels outside Tongguan were vulnerable, and Geshuhan would lose the opportunity to annihilate the rebels. The fatuous Tang Xuanzong listened to Yang's words and sent messengers to Tongguan one after another, forcing Ge to lead troops out of Tongguan.
Geshuhan knew that it was not good to go through the customs, but he could not disobey the emperor's imperial edict and cried bitterly, so he had to lead the army through the customs.
Cui Ganyou, the rebel general, has already saved his strength, just waiting for Tang Jun to go through the customs. Cui Ganyou sent elite soldiers to ambush in the valley west of Lingbao (in present-day western Henan Province). As soon as Geshuhan's 200,000 troops passed the customs, they were ambushed by the rebels and almost completely annihilated. 200,000 troops, only 8,000 people left.
Ge Shuhan tried to clean up the beaten army, but his men lost their footing first, and the rebels pushed all the way to Tongguan. Goshuhan was also captured.
As soon as Tongguan fell, it was safe to defend it. Some local officials and garrison soldiers from Tongguan to Chang 'an abandoned the city and fled.
At first, Geshuhan also sent people to Chang 'an for emergency treatment. Later, the urgent document was interrupted; At night, the "safety fire" on the beacon tower was gone. At this time, Tang Xuanzong felt the situation was critical, and he was anxious to find a way to be nice to Yang Guo Zhong.
Yang called the civil and military officials together to discuss. Everyone is in a hurry, and no one can come up with a good idea. Knowing that he could not live in Chang 'an, Yang advised Xuanzong to flee to Shu.
That evening, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, Yang, Yang Guifei and a group of imperial grandchildren, escorted by General Chen and guards, quietly opened the palace door and escaped from Chang 'an.
They first sent a eunuch to all parts of the road to let the officials prepare for the reception.
I don't know that in Xianyang, the eunuch and county magistrate I sent have escaped. Tang Xuanzong and his team walked for a long time, but no one brought them food. The accompanying eunuch finally found the local people and asked them for some food. Several people sent some sorghum cakes. Those princes and grandchildren are usually pampered, where have they ever eaten such a meal, but they are really too hungry to care about any decency. There are no bowls and chopsticks. They just scoop them up with a spoon and eat them all at once.
Tang Xuanzong managed to swallow a few bites of bread and tears. An old man crowded in front of the car and said to Xuanzong, "It's not a day since An Lushan rebelled. In these years, someone reported to the court, but was locked up and killed. The ministers around your majesty can only flatter you, and your majesty can't hear anything outside. We ordinary people know that this day will come, but the palace gate is too deep for your majesty to hear the opinions of the people. If it weren't for today's situation, how could we stand in front of your majesty and speak! "
Tang Xuanzong said gloomily, "This is because I am so confused that it is too late to regret it."
In this way, on the third day, the soldiers who arrived at Maweigang (now the west of Xingping County, Shaanxi Province) were hungry and tired, and they couldn't help it. The more they think about it, the angrier they get. They couldn't stay in Chang 'an well, and they were exiled everywhere and suffered a lot. They believe that all this is due to the fatigue of the traitor Yang, and this account has to be counted from Yang.
At this time, two dozen Tibetan messengers stopped Yang's horse and asked Yang for food. Before Yang could answer, the soldiers around him already rang up:
"Yang is going to rebel!" He shouted and shot an arrow.
Yang Guozhong tried to escape in a panic, but several soldiers caught up with him and cut off his head.
The soldiers killed Yang and were so emotional that they surrounded the posthouse where Tang Xuanzong lived. Tang Xuanzong heard the voice outside and asked what had happened. The eunuchs told him that the soldiers had killed Yang. Xuanzong was so surprised that he had to walk out of the post door on crutches to comfort the soldiers and ask them to go back to camp to have a rest.
The soldiers ignored Tang Xuanzong's words, but they were still noisy. Xuanzong sent Gao Lishi to Chen and asked why the soldiers refused to leave. Chen replied: "Yang rebelled, and the imperial concubine could not stay."
This puzzled Tang Xuanzong. How could he be willing to kill this beloved concubine? He stood with his head down for a long time, and then said, "How do you know that Yang is plotting?"
Gao Lishi knew that not killing Yang Guifei could not calm the soldiers' anger. He said, "The imperial concubine is innocent, but the soldiers killed Yang. If they keep the imperial concubine, they won't feel at ease. I hope that your majesty will consider it carefully, the soldiers will feel at ease, and your majesty will be safe. "
In order to save his own life, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty had to take Yang Guifei to other places and strangle her with tape.
When these people heard that Yang Guifei was executed, they finally breathed a sigh of relief and retreated to the camp.
After the mutiny, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty fled to Chengdu. The local people hired Prince Hengli to preside over state affairs. Hengli went all the way from Mayiyi to pick up the remnants of the team and went north. Acceded to the throne in Lingwu (now southwest of Lingwu, Ningxia). This is Tang Suzong.
