Consciousness-only is a Sanskrit word, transliterated as Viradhimātanlado. The Sanskrit word is inverted and called Consciousness-only. The Chinese translation is Consciousness-only.

Different characteristics: Consciousness-only theory states that all phenomena outside our human consciousness are manifested by our human consciousness itself, that is, from the eighth alaya consciousness. The seeds in it manifest and arise. The essence of contemplation is wisdom. Observe all dharmas with Prajna Wisdom, and understand that all dharmas are caused by causes and conditions, are all made of false names, and are all empty.
3. Different ideas: Madhyamaka thought is rooted in the "Prajna Sutra" circulated in the early Mahayana period. Nagarjuna wrote "Middle Way Theory" to elaborate on the correct Madhyamaka thought and practice methods. The knowledge-only tradition originated from Maitreya and was completed by the Dharma Protector. However, the Dharma protector's academic tradition did not spread in India. It was passed down to Xuanzang from the victorious army commentator, and became popular only in China.
