From 1872 to 1875, the Qing government sent 30 young children to study in the United States every year, four times 120 people. This is the first batch of formal students in modern China. These international students go abroad to accept the baptism and edification of western culture. After returning to China, they made outstanding contributions to the social development of China in the difficult process of modernization of science and technology in modern China. The science and technology I have learned are applied to the development of naval forces, posts and telecommunications, mining and metallurgy, railways and other undertakings. A large number of young and promising talents had a far-reaching influence in the modernization process of modern China.

Yung Wing

Hong Rong, whose real name is Dameng and whose real name is Chunfu, is from Xiangshan County, Guangdong Province. He is the first China student to graduate from an American university. He is the most famous founder in China's modern history of studying abroad. He is called "the father of international students". During his study in Yale University, Hong Rong basically formed the educational idea of sending China students to study abroad. He once said: "If you give them all, they will be educated by this civilization, so those who give them later will enjoy the same benefits." "Instilling western learning into China has made China increasingly prosperous and civilized."1In the winter of 854, Hong Rong and Zeng Guofan jointly played a plan to send overseas students to the United States, which was approved and worked hard. Mr. Shu Xincheng, a modern educator, said: "There is no tolerance. Although it cannot be said that there are no international students in China, even if there are, it will not be so early. The way to send it may be another way. " It can be said that Yung Wing not only actively promoted the first large-scale wave of studying abroad in China's modern history, but also tried to encourage young students to go abroad and go to the world.

Tianyou Zhan

On August 1872, 1 1, with the approval of the Qing government, the first batch of China students, including Liang and Zhan Tianyou, set off for the United States to study abroad. Zhan Tianyou, whose name is Sincere as soon as possible, has reached the DPRK. 12 years old studied in the United States, 1878 years old was admitted to the Department of Civil Engineering of Yale University, majoring in railway engineering. He is known as the first chief railway engineer in China. He was responsible for the construction of the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway, and was known as "the father of China's railways" and "the father of modern engineering in China".

Later, the development of science and technology in China proved that G-type foreign students made great contributions to the establishment and development of science and technology in China, and many of them became the founders of various scientific disciplines in modern China. Such as Hu Mingfu, Jiang Lifu, to mathematics, Ye, Wu and Zhou Peiyuan to physics, Hou, Zhuang Changgong and Sun to chemistry, Bing Zhi, Hu Xianfu and Qian Chongshu to biology, Mao Yisheng and Liang Sicheng to architecture, Zhu Kezhen to meteorology and so on. They contributed their own strength to modern China and promoted the development of modern China.
