1. The real light is never a time of darkness, but it is never obscured by darkness. A real hero is never one who never has humble sentiments, but one who never succumbs to humble sentiments. Therefore, before you can defeat external enemies, you must first defeat your inner enemies. You don’t have to be afraid of sinking and falling, as long as you can constantly extricate yourself and renew yourself. ——Fu Lei? "John Christoph - Translator's Preface"

Extended information
1. Character evaluation
“Fu Lei’s artistic attainments are extremely profound, and he has extensive knowledge of literature, painting, and music in all fields, both ancient and modern, both at home and abroad. He is very knowledgeable, but he is always incompatible with the popular atmosphere. He can't interact with people, and always leaves halfway, unable to show his talents." (Review by translator Lou Shiyi)
"Fu Lei has an angular head, can offend people at every turn, and has a short temper. He can't help but bump into people. He knows that he is not good at getting around in the world, and the 'cave' he can stay in is just his own study." (Literature) Comment by Yang Jiang)
Fu Lei loves this country very much, so he has very strict requirements for this country. He loved his own articles and the works of the writers he translated, so he took them very seriously. (Comments by painter Huang Miaozi)
