However, in rural primary and secondary schools, due to the lack of correct theoretical guidance, lack of appropriate empirical reference, and lack of scientific mechanism management, the development of extracurricular reading activities is mostly a formality and the effect is not obvious enough. In the context of the new curriculum, how to effectively carry out extracurricular reading activities?

1. Create a reading atmosphere and increase reading interest

Then, I held a debate activity with the theme of "Is extracurricular reading good or not?" and a speech activity with the theme of "I love extracurricular reading" to let the whole class further understand the importance and role of reading. Then, I struck while the iron was hot and held two meetings one after another to remobilize and heat up the situation again. At the two sessions, I announced the implementation plan and specific practices for extracurricular reading in the class, put forward the requirement for parents to "read with their children", made provisions for myself to "read for all teachers and students", and proposed to create a " The concept of “bookish family” and “bookish class”. After the two sessions, the whole class was very excited about extracurricular reading, and they were all very motivated and eager to give it a try. In order to stimulate the interest of all students and take care of the needs of all levels, I have carefully designed the "five-star" selection activities, that is, regularly selecting "Reading Stars", "Progress Stars", "Recitation Stars" and "Recitation Stars" , "Creation Star", etc., and strive to allow every student to participate in activities, gain something from reading, be exercised in activities, and improve in practice.

2. Master reading methods and develop reading habits
