Introduction to Wen Tianxiang:
Wen Tianxiang (1236-1282) was born in Luling, Jizhou (today's Ji'an, Jiangxi Province). In the fourth year of Lizong Baoyou's reign (1256), he was ranked first among Jinshi scholars. In the first year of Emperor Gong Deyou's reign (1275), the soldiers of the Yuan Dynasty marched eastward, and Wen raised troops in his hometown to resist the Yuan Dynasty. The following year, Lin'an was besieged. Except for the right prime minister and the Privy Council envoy, he was ordered to go to the enemy camp to negotiate peace. He was detained for resisting resolutely. He later escaped and fought in Jiangxi, Fujian, Ling and other places. He was defeated and captured. He was unyielding and sacrificed his life. Dadu (now Beijing). Able to write poems, he was influenced by the Jianghu School in the early stage, and his poetic style was mediocre. Later, he wrote more works expressing the patriotic spirit. Wen Tianxiang wrote a large number of poems in prison.
