Nietzsche, Friedrich Wilhelm
German philosopher. The main representative of voluntarism. He was born in a missionary family in Saxony, Prussia on October 15, 1844 and died in Weimar on August 25, 1900. In 1866, he entered the University of Bonn to study theology, and soon changed to classical philology. In 1869, he became an additional professor of classical linguistics at the University of Basel, Switzerland. From 1878 to 1879, he suffered from schizophrenia and resigned from his teaching position.
