The sentence "Dare to be the first" highlights the enterprising spirit of Huxiang culture in history and the fearless spirit of Xiang Army "not afraid of ghosts, not believing in evil and being overbearing". Because of this, children of Huxiang can take the lead in the Reform Movement of 1898, the Revolution of 1911, the May 4th Movement and the China Revolution.
