Shuhu Mr. Yang Wang Bi Anshi
The eaves are long and clean without moss, and flowers and trees are planted by hand.
One water protects the field and surrounds the green, and two mountains send green.
Note: This is a famous poem written by Wang Anshi to his neighbor Yang Defeng when he was in Jinling. Written after Wang Anshi lived in seclusion in his later years. The artistic conception of the poem is fresh and elegant, with distinct levels, neat antithesis and personalized landscape, which moves the distant scenery to the courtyard and makes the scenery more concentrated. The last two sentences of the poem are literally translated as "a small river protects farmland and surrounds young crops, and two green hills push open the door to send cyan."
