"The movement against the Tao, the weak use the Tao." These two words are wise sayings, a summary of Lao Tzu's life after he knew the universe, and the highest rule for people to seek things!
"Movement against Tao" refers to a movement form of Tao, which is a word-"anti". The "anti-Tao movement" is "reaction". The law of everything is "reaction", which moves repeatedly in the opposite direction.
The word "anti" has two meanings. The first meaning is regression, repetition and "regression". The second meaning is opposition and opposition. These two meanings are simultaneous. Let's look at the first meaning first. Let us think about what we see in the universe. Is the law of its movement and change repetitive and retrogressive? For example, the sun rose in the east this morning, rose to the highest at noon, began to set in the west in the afternoon, and rose in the east and set in the west the next day. Every month, the moon is full and full, and there are four kinds of moon phase changes. Throughout the year, crops grow and harvest together in spring, summer, autumn and winter. There are ebbs and flows, flowers bloom and flowers fall, clouds roll and clouds relax, and grass grows and warblers fly ... which one is not born and died, and it goes on and on? From a macro point of view, it is the law of immortality of matter, which is called "walking around without danger", which is a big law. I ching thinks this is a periodic change-"repetition of Tao" and "deficiency of six qi"; Buddhism regards it as reincarnation and karma; Confucianism regards it as "cautious pursuit of the end" and "primitive opposition to the end"
The second meaning, opposition, is relative and relative. Laozi and Confucius explain the problem differently. Confucius generally said "what is it" and Laozi generally said "what is not it". Confucius is a kind of positive thinking, and Laozi is a kind of reverse thinking. Do you know the difference between Chinese painting and oil painting? For example, if you want to draw a cloud, how can you draw Chinese painting and oil painting? Oil painting should use pigments to draw what color this cloud is, and a colored cloud should use various colors. The clouds in traditional Chinese painting are not painted with colored ink, but "flying white", that is, leaving white space and drawing the surrounding mountains. Where there is no painting, the blank place is the cloud. This is a painting without painting, a typical Taoist way of thinking, and a way of thinking with complementary opposites. I'm not talking about "what is", but "what is not", such as "things", "names" and "shapes" ... all the things that are not have been eliminated, and what remains is "Tao". Laozi's way of thinking is a reverse way of thinking: you are in the top, I am in the bottom; You are strong, I am weak; You are gorgeous, and I am simple.
"The weak use Tao", and the weak is one of the greatest functions of Tao. It is generally believed that strength is useful and weakness can play its greatest role. Weak is better than strong, which is discussed in many chapters of Laozi. Typical examples are babies and water. We adults should learn from babies and water. The beauty of wood in the forest will be destroyed by the wind. Blow a bird's head off. Don't always be competitive, don't be sharp-edged. Weakness, modesty and forbearance are the magic weapon of being a man and the "great use" of success.
"Everything in the world is born of something, and it is born of nothing." This is a description of the function of "Tao" and a further discussion of "the movement against Tao is used by the weak" You can refer to the first chapter of Laozi.
