The basic organization of Christianity is called the church. Christianity believes that the church is the sum of all living and dead Christians.
The word "church" comes from the Greek ε κ λ η σ? α, which means "gathering", mainly refers to the legislative meeting of city-state citizens in ancient Hellenistic countries.
