A wise person will respond to some things in a flexible way that suits actual needs; a stupid person is stubborn and self-righteous and cannot listen to the opinions of others.
It comes from "Guyan·Jinyan" written by Chen Que in the Qing Dynasty.
Original text
Therefore, those who are wise will not be wise in themselves, those who are fools will not be foolish in themselves, and those who are fools will think that they are smart.
Translation
It means that the wisest person will never think that he is wise, and the stupidest person will never think that he is stupid. With self-knowledge, smart people will become smarter; without self-knowledge, stupid people will become even stupider.
Explanation
A wise person is also a person of great wisdom. Smart people usually do not rely on their own intelligence or even think how smart they are. Because they know the meaning of wisdom and know that there are many things that they don't know. Their horizons are always ahead. This provides a broad space for their development and advancement. Provide sufficient conditions for them to become smarter.
The wisest person will never call himself a wise man, and the stupidest person will never call himself a fool. Like to ask questions, like to investigate, and be determined to correct mistakes, this is the greatest intelligence; glossing over mistakes, refusing criticism, thinking that you are the most correct, this is the greatest stupidity.
