Inamori Kazuo’s main management philosophy: heart-centered and striving for perfection.
Kazuo Inamori was born in Kagoshima City, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, and graduated from the Faculty of Engineering of Kagoshima University. He founded Kyoto Ceramics Co., Ltd. at the age of 27, and founded Second Telecom at the age of 52. These two companies entered the Fortune Global 500 during his lifetime. He lamented that post-war Japan had a tendency to choose smart and eloquent people as leaders, ignoring moral norms and ethical standards, resulting in frequent scandals in the political and business circles.
He suggested that the selection criteria for leaders should be that virtue should be higher than talent, that is, those who are superior to others should put personality first, courage second, and ability third. No matter what the job is, as long as you go all out to do it, you will have a great sense of accomplishment and self-confidence, and you will be motivated to challenge the next goal. Successful people are often those who are addicted to what they do.
Personal quotes of Kazuo Inamori
1. The result of work = way of thinking × enthusiasm × ability. The so-called ability refers to innate qualifications such as talent or intelligence; the so-called "enthusiasm" refers to one's own efforts such as the willingness to work hard or enthusiasm; and the way of thinking refers to personality factors such as philosophy, thoughts, ethics, and other lifestyle attitudes.
2. People who are spontaneously combustible, people who are flammable, and people who are non-combustible. The so-called "burning" here refers to the passion for things. A self-combustible person is one who is the first to take action on things, giving their vitality and energy to those around them.
