I met a word called "sketch spirit" in the process of learning watercolor yesterday. I don't know why I like this word. What is the "sketch spirit"? For me, abandoning those colorful colors and returning to the truth of light and shadow is the "sketch spirit".
I like this discarded true attribute, which hides the inner essence of the operation and development of all things.
Being good at discarding is a seemingly stupid but wise practice. When planting trees, the branches and leaves are cultivated for the overall growth of a tree. This spirit of "taking the essence and discarding the dross" is very precious, whether it's dealing with people or planning your own life. People have to be thrown into a complex society when they are born. Every day, I meet all kinds of people, deal with all kinds of things, hear praise and accept criticism. Some people are cunning and sophistry, while others are sincere and kind. Some things are easy to solve, while others are exhausting. Those praises make people unconsciously appreciate their own bodies, while those criticisms may make people reflect or feel depressed. At this time, if you have the spirit of discarding, will it make life easier? Discard those thoughts that will confuse people and keep a calm heart in the "downtown" is the practice of this life.
The essence of a thing is the most real part after the external decoration fades, and it is the "main contradiction" that is good at grasping in the process of solving problems. I am not a staunch defender of "Neo-Confucianism in Zhu Cheng", nor will I talk about Laozi's "Tao and Nature" for a long time. However, I admire this persistence in my initial heart and put things outside my body outside my initial heart. We can't practice for a long time and keep ourselves out of the world. If you are in the depths of the hustle and bustle, and can uphold the spirit of Do not forget your initiative mind, I believe that a quiet force will definitely become your driving force.
What is the sketch spirit in watercolor painting? Jane Zhongwei said: "It is the sketch spirit of a painting to use the lightness value of color to shape the three-dimensional sense, space sense and light and shadow effect of the picture, as well as the contrast change and horizontal circle balance of the light and dark distribution of the picture!"
I also follow Jane Zhongwei's suggestion to learn watercolor for beginners, and use a single pigment to shape the body simply from the relationship between color and light.
I chose the red ochre of Windsor Newton to construct a picture, and only the lightness value of the color was used in the construction process. But in the process of painting, I still encounter many problems that beginners will encounter. The picture structure is not vivid enough! Insufficient control of water. In addition, without the basis of sketch, the understanding of the relationship between light and shade is not thorough enough.
Finally, I attach my first watercolor practice painting. I look forward to your comments and suggestions ~
