How to make bookmarks for primary school students is as follows:
1. Choose the paper you want. Choose stiff cardstock to support your bookmark, then choose another pattern or image to stick on top. Feel free to use other papers for collage or choose multiple patterns.
2. Paper cutting. Bookmarks can be as big or small as you like. Cut cardboard into small, non-protruding bookmarks just 2.5mm long, or choose to make a traditional bookmark 5 to 7.5mm wide. Do not make the bookmark longer than 15cm or it will stick out above or below the book.
3. Add details. Use screened decorative paper or patterns, cut them out and attach them to cardstock. Add a piece of textured paper or a pattern cut from a magazine to an entire sheet of cardstock to easily add style to your handiwork.
4. Seal the bookmark. To protect your bookmarks from wear or damage, add a protective cover to your bookmarks. If possible, laminate with a plastic sleeve. You can also apply the same length of wide packing tape on both sides of the bookmark to create the same effect. Consider applying a handmade liquid gel similar to epoxy glue to both sides of the bookmark. Apply one side at a time and allow to dry before applying the other side.
5. Make final touches. Use a hole punch to punch a hole in the top of the bookmark. Cut 15 to 20 cm of ribbon and fold it in half. Pass the looped end through the hole in the bookmark, then pass the tail of the other end through the loop and tighten.
The second way to make beautiful bookmarks is as follows:
1. Create your style. Use pencil to draw a 12.5 x 12.5 cm square on a piece of note paper. Take out a ruler and divide the square into 4 parts, that is, there are four small squares in a large square. Then erase the square in the upper right corner, so you have 3 small squares forming an "L" shape.
2. Divide the square in the upper left corner diagonally from the lower left corner to the upper right corner. You have now divided the square into two triangles. Do the same for the square in the lower right corner. Today only the square in the lower left corner remains original.
3. Fill in the triangle. Use a pencil to quickly fill in the top and bottom triangles. Now you should be left with just the square in the lower left corner and a triangle above and to the right of the square.
4. Cut out this shape. Cut along the perimeter of the shape you drew, cutting out the colored triangle. You now have a shape that looks like a left-pointing arrow.
5. Use this style to make your bookmarks. Place the cut out shapes on card stock or construction paper of your choice. Trace the shape onto card stock following the pattern, then cut it out.
6. Fold the shape. Fold the two triangles into the square. Now you have a square (and two triangles stacked on top of each other).
7. Make a bookmark. Use glue to join the upper and lower triangles to form a bag. If you like, you can cut off the bottom of the square to make the shape symmetrical.
8. Decorate your bookmarks. Add decorative paper to the front and back of your triangular pockets. Consider drawing or writing your favorite quote or lyrics on the front. When you're satisfied with the finished product, you're done! Clip it into the corner of the page you want to mark in your favorite book.
