Liu Xiang (about 77 BC-6 BC), formerly known as Geng Sheng, was born in Pengcheng (now Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province), the State of Chu in the Western Han Dynasty. The ancestral home is Fengxian County, Qinshui County (now Fengxian County, Jiangsu Province), and it is an imperial clan of the Han Dynasty. His ancestor is Liu Jiao, Liu Bang's half-brother, who lives in Fengxian County. Liu Xiang was a scholar, bibliographer, writer and historian in the Western Han Dynasty. His prose is mainly about Qin Shu's "narrative record" and the collation of ancient books. The famous books are Sword Shadow Changling Book and Narrative Record of Warring States Policy, which are simple in narration, fluent in theory and relaxed.
