Arthur Conan Doyle was born in Scotland and studied medicine. He was a doctor in the Boer War (1899- 1902). But his fame depends on the Sherlock Holmes he created. Doyle published his first Sherlock Holmes story-a study of the word blood in 1887. In the next 40 years, he published 56 short stories and 4 novels, telling the story of Sherlock Holmes and his assistant, Dr. Watson. Sherlock Holmes is a keen observer, and his ruthless logic infers from the smallest clues, which makes him a model of many later detectives and a model of mysterious writers and detectives. Doyle was particularly interested in mysticism in his later years. 1926, he wrote a book called Historical Idealism.
In addition: Doyle was knighted for serving Quan Wang North in 1903, including his pamphlet in South Africa in 1902 ... Doyle also created Sherlock Holmes' nemesis-the villain professor ... Dr. Watson and Doyle have a lot in common: both doctors and writers, both of whom served in the British army ... Doyle has two children with his first wife and three children with his second wife.
Doyle co-starred with Mike Clayton, the author of Jurassic Park, as a doctor who wrote a letter.
