Just this month, Sichuan army generals got together to discuss the war of resistance against Japan, determined to give up their differences and unified the 14 division to the front line of resistance against Japan.
In order to resist Japan, the Sichuan Army carried out Chiang Kai-shek's instruction of "nationalization of the army" and accepted the reorganization of the National Government. Later, according to the statistics of the National Government, the number of casualties of the Sichuan Army during the Anti-Japanese War was about 1/5 of the total number of casualties of the anti-Japanese army in China, ranking first in the country!
The Sichuan army went out of Sichuan to resist Japan, and the National Government moved its capital to Chongqing. To Nanjing, the capital of the National Government, Sichuan has been burdened with all kinds of overload for nearly eight years. However, the people of Sichuan have never complained. While tightening their belts to support the government's war of resistance, they sent nearly 3 million children to the front in tears. In order to be loyal to history, the script of "A Strong Man Going Out of Sichuan" has been polished for four years and the draft has been changed several times. Screenwriters Chen Zhuang, Ran Guangze and others extensively collected the opinions of relevant experts, set up a special film crew, and found more than 40 surviving Sichuan War veterans in all parts of Sichuan. In the play, the history is restored as much as possible in the characterization and plot setting. Previously, "A Brave Man Out of Sichuan" gained a good reputation after being broadcast on local TV stations such as Hunan and Guangdong, and its large-scale picture sense and compact plot were commendable. But there are high-density and various war scenes in the play. Not only are there battles in each episode, but also various tactical styles such as shelling and hand-to-hand combat are brought together, and bloody scenes such as broken arms are deliberately preserved. Such intensive war scenes and bloody scenes have also attracted a lot of controversy. Hua Qing explained: "In fact, war is cruel and bloody. We just shoot in this way, restore history as much as possible, and strive to impress the audience with sincerity. "
The playwright investigated a lot of historical facts and restored history as much as possible in the play. In addition to remolding the three famous historical battles, namely, the Battle of Songhu, the Battle of Taierzhuang and the Battle of Defending Laohekou, all 34 battles were adapted from real cases. In addition, the main characters in the play also have historical prototypes, such as Wang Changsheng played by Wang Zheng, which evolved from Wang Jiantang, a famous "dead flag bearer" hero in the history of Sichuan Army. In addition, The Brave Man Out of Sichuan subverts the traditional model of lonely heroes in the anti-Japanese war drama, and creates a large number of vivid characters of the Sichuan Army, such as Zhang Kang, a grass-roots company commander, Yang Biao, a well-trained staff officer, and Wu Tianlu, a Paoge soldier. With a more rigorous attitude, "A Strong Man Leaving Sichuan" interprets a more real core.
