First, the original intention of establishing a free high school for girls
Miss Zhang Guimei came to the classroom to prepare for class as usual, but she found another empty seat without even saying hello. She immediately understood that another female student was going to drop out of school because of poverty. No matter what the result was, she visited her home again. After walking on the mountain road for several hours, my feet are swollen. Finally, I found the parents of the students and persuaded them to let them go on to school. Later, the students were finally admitted to the university. But finding students who drop out of school one by one is mainly because of poverty, not the solution to the problem. In addition, most dropouts are female students, and even if their families are poor, male students will continue to go to school, so Zhang Guimei began to think about whether there is a free high school for girls.
Second, the road to school.
It takes a lot of money to build a free high school for girls. Zhang Guimei took out all her savings, which was far from enough, so she thought of raising money. Zhang Guimei once went to the streets of Kunming to raise money. He took his ID card and all kinds of prize-winning materials with him, but he couldn't open his mouth. She doesn't know how to operate it. Finally, after gathering the courage to visit a unit, I received some donations. She also began to slowly seek donations on the street, but most of the time she was rejected as a liar. In 2007, a turning point appeared. At the 17th National Congress, Zhang Guimei told the world about her dream of running a free high school for girls. With the support of the government and all walks of life, a girls' high school was finally established.
3. Since the establishment of the school, 1804 students have successfully graduated from Huaping Girls' High School, and countless students have gone to their dream universities. Among the first graduates, one decided to return to her alma mater and become a teacher in a girls' high school. They will continue to change the fate of more children in poor mountainous areas.
