How to teach English well?
I am an English major and have experienced many English teachers in my English learning career. I think the most effective English teachers for me are those who arouse my interest and enthusiasm in learning. It's not how much I learned in class, but that I am willing to spend time to really study after class. Do homework, recite words, listen to tapes, etc. Therefore, if you really know how to use it, you still have to work hard on your own. It's been seven years since I first set foot on the podium, and I've also listened to many teachers' classes, especially those whose students responded well. I have been learning from them. At that time, I worked less than 1000 a month on average. In order to learn the teaching methods of New Oriental, I spent more than 1500 yuan that year to enroll in the intensive IELTS class, and lived alone in the school dormitory during the summer vacation. Every time I go back to the dormitory after studying, it's at night 10: 40. I always put my hand into my bag in the dark carriage on the road and give myself courage with a prepared knife. Teachers in New Oriental speak very fast, whether in English or Chinese. Some teachers have good oral English, while others are just so-so. Personally, I think that a teacher with pure and authentic oral English will fall in love at once and then become a fan. New Oriental has a lot of brain activity, such as listening. I have been doing listening problems all night or afternoon. The process is as follows: the teacher introduces the content of listening (what kind of questions belong to) and plays the recording, and the students do the questions to explain the problems. Besides doing the questions, I also observed the reactions of the students around me. I find that students' enthusiasm will weaken when they study. Later, all the students in our class13 were skipping classes. However, there is no denying that I think ZRH who teaches listening and ZJ who teaches oral English are really very good teachers. They are very familiar with the process and problems of IELTS test. But I think telling jokes has some deliberate traces, and sometimes it feels a little fake. I'm not too cold about it, but young students often laugh. Teachers in New Oriental can stimulate learning motivation. If you follow the teacher's instructions after class, the effect is still very good. What I dislike most and value most is the teacher who teaches writing. Although he often tries to make us laugh. Let's talk about the school teachers. Attending and being attended is an indispensable part of middle school teachers' work, while university teachers, especially my university, have requirements for attending classes, but implementing them is another matter. After asking, the educational administration teacher recommended me a teacher with a high popularity index, which was very popular with the students. However, every time he doesn't like my class, he likes to give me orders in the office. Sometimes I insist on taking classes. I found that my teacher didn't give students much knowledge and practice in class, but because of his age and rich life experience, he often told students some truth about being a man and doing things (Chinese). Whenever students are asked to make sentences, the sentences given are sentences that students ridicule each other. I think it has something to do with the audience. I have listened to his undergraduate courses for non-English majors, as well as his junior college and undergraduate courses for English majors, and asked students about their feelings. Students think the teacher's words are really useful in life. Students who are not English majors are easier to accept because they have less knowledge and are more funny. P.S. This university is three universities. When we were in college, I remember a famous professor who taught translation. When one of my classmates applied for a postgraduate interview in a school, the interview teacher asked her: You are a student of a physical education professor. What did the PE professor teach you? Shamefully, I have hardly attended the PE professor's class. I don't know why I can't listen. I wouldn't listen even if I tried. Students say that Professor PE's oral English is very good, but now I have no impression of Professor PE's oral English. Freshmen and sophomores like foreign teachers' classes, which are very new, especially freshmen. The freshness of senior students to foreign teachers is gone. We have a course "Advanced English Writing" taught by foreign teacher B, and Z students in my dormitory get good grades, but in a class of 30 to 40 students, only five or six students often come to the class. At first, there were quite a few, and gradually they all ran away. The most popular index is "Overview of Britain and America". Classes begin at 2: 30, and at 1 40, people come to grab seats. They help a class to take all the seats. First of all, everyone is interested in the general situation of Britain and America, involving geography, literature, politics, culture, humanities and other aspects. Second, there are many pictures and videos in the multimedia classroom. Third, the teacher's pronunciation is very magnetic, and many students like to listen. Last summer vacation, at the teaching seminar, a school leader mentioned Li Yang's crazy English. In fact, many students and I don't like it. I think simultaneous interpretation is very good. Her screen name is Anne. Let me quote here: in 2000, when I was a senior at Beijing Foreign Studies University, I happened to be the head teacher of Li Yang Crazy English Beijing Training Camp, and also the head teacher during the 200 1 Spring Festival winter vacation training camp. At that time, Li Yang came to the intensive class a few days ago, and my colleagues and I gave classes to students in the next few days. So, I think I know something about Li Yang and Crazy English. Personally, I think Li Yang Crazy English is more about success or inspiration than being called a language teaching course. Li Yang Crazy English also has its great limitations. First of all, Crazy English advocates fast food and fast learning methods. Such as the first ten sentences and so on. Give people the feeling that you can chat with foreigners as long as you learn these sentences. Of course, I think this method is conducive to improving everyone's confidence in speaking English. However, from my own teaching experience, this can't really improve students' English level. After all, English is so vast that you can't learn it by memorizing dozens of sentences quickly. What Crazy English lacks is systematic and in-depth study step by step. To tell the truth, in 2000, when Beijing Crazy English School just started school, there was no other textbook except Li Yang's Crazy English Brochure. Several of our teachers had to get together and compile a supplementary textbook to make our teaching content better in depth and breadth. Secondly, Li Yang's crazy English is easy to give people the illusion that as long as you work hard and force yourself to recite some famous words, you can learn English well. Memorizing famous sentences is important, but I personally think it is not advisable to force myself. Li yang only needs
