Lu Longqi (163-1692), a Qing official, was born in Pinghu, Zhejiang Province, and was a famous upright official in Kangxi period. After that, he was dismissed from office and retired indifferently. In the twenty-second year of Kangxi, it was ordered to supplement Lingshou County in Zhili. Later, he was recommended to be a Taichang Shaoqing, and he was repeatedly dismissed from the bureaucracy and was excluded. Kangxi took a leave of absence in the twenty-ninth year and died in the thirty-first year, at the age of 63. Lu Longqi was an official, with little experience and low position. He was only a small seven-product official until his death and never got promoted. The reason is not because of his mediocre ability, bad conduct and few achievements, but to a great extent, it has a lot to do with his integrity, his unwillingness to please his boss and his refusal to follow the hidden rules of officialdom. Lu Longqi was a second-class scholar in the ninth year of Kangxi. He got good grades and was not young. At that time, he was in the age of no doubt. He was appointed as the magistrate of Jiading (now Jiading District, Shanghai) after five years of leisure in Beijing. Jiading County is a big county which is rich and belongs to Taicang, Jiangsu Province. Being an official here shows that he is valued. After he took office, he took "promoting the benefits and eliminating the evils, changing the customs and customs as his own responsibility" and "transforming the people by virtue", which achieved remarkable results and was well received by the local people, with considerable political achievements and reputation.
