Yin Lihua (5 years to 64 years) was born in Xinye, Nanyang (Xinye County, Henan Province). She was the queen of Liu Xiu, Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Her father was Yinlu, the Marquis of Xuan Enai, and her mother was Deng.
Not only did Queen Yin come from a prominent family, but her family was also a powerful family in Nanyang. The Yin family owned a huge amount of land, and their chariots, horses, and servants were comparable to those of feudal princes and kings.
Not only that, the Yin family has had good relations with the Deng family of Taifu Deng Yu for generations. The sister of Queen Yin is the wife of Deng Rang. Dongguan records say: "Mrs. Rang is the sister of Queen Guanglie". The mother of Queen Yin is Deng.
In history, Emperor Guangwu Liu Xiu and his queen Yin Lihua had a famous saying that has been passed down through the ages: "When you are an official, you should be like Jinwu, and when you marry, you should be like Yin Lihua." In June of the first year of Gengshi (23rd year), Liu Xiu's eldest brother Liu Yan (also known as Bo Sheng) was killed by Emperor Gengshi. "Book of the Later Han·Biography of Liu Xuan and Liu Penzi" states: "At this time, Guangwu and his brother Bo Sheng also rose. In the fifth month, Bo was promoted to Ba Wan. In June, Gengshi entered the capital of Wancheng, and all the clan members and generals were ennobled. There were more than a hundred people who were princes. , so he was punished and appointed Guanglu Xun and Liu Ci as the chief disciple. "In that month, Yin Lihua married Liu Xiu, who was nineteen years old.
In the third year of Emperor Gengshi's reign (25th year), Liu Xiu proclaimed himself emperor and changed the Yuan Dynasty to the first year of Jianwu. After becoming emperor, he took Yin Lihua back and made her a noble person. Among the two nobles of Yin and Guo, Liu Xiu wanted to make Yin Lihua his queen because of her elegance and generosity, but Yin Lihua believed that she was not enough to hold the position and firmly declined. "After the emperor was elegant and tolerant, he wanted to respect the position of honor, but he resigned because the Guo family had a son, but he refused to be the queen, so he made Empress Guo." In the second year of Jianwu, Liu Yang, Empress Guo's uncle, wanted to rebel, and Geng Purely punish him. In June of that year, Guo Shengtong was canonized as queen, and his eldest son Liu Jiang was made crown prince.
In the fourth year of Jianwu, Yin Lihua gave birth to her eldest son Liu Yang in the Yuan clan, who later became Emperor Liu Zhuang of Han Ming Dynasty.
In the fourteenth year of Jianwu's reign, Emperor Guangwu's favor for Empress Guo gradually dwindled, and Empress Guo complained repeatedly. At the same time, Nanyang's powerful forces gradually eroded the centralized power. "Book of the Later Han Dynasty, Queen's Chronicle, Queen Guangwu Guo": "...in the fourteenth year," Queen Guo was deposed as the Queen Mother of Zhongshan, and at the same time, Yin Lihua was appointed Queen. Liu Yang, the eldest son of Empress Yin, was made the crown prince and his name was changed to Zhuang. Established the territory as the king of the East China Sea.
In the second year of Jianwu Zhongyuan (57 years), Emperor Liu Zhuang of the Han Ming Dynasty came to the throne and honored Yin Lihua as the empress dowager.
In the seventh year of Yongping (64 years), Yin Lihua, who had reigned for 24 years, passed away and was buried in the same mausoleum with Emperor Guangwu Liu Xiu. Her posthumous title was "Guanglie".
Liu Xiu and Yin Lihua had 5 sons:
Liu Zhuang, Emperor Ming of the Han Dynasty
Liu Cang, King Xian of Dongping
King Si of Guangling Liu Jing
Liu Heng, Duke Huai of Linhuai (died in the 18th year of Jianwu, that year, Empress Guo was deposed, and the Yin nobles made her the empress)
