The Honghuahui is a non-governmental organization made up in martial arts novels. The Tiandihui does exist in real history. It is a real non-governmental organization that resists the Qing Dynasty and restores the Ming Dynasty. The term Honghuahui mainly appears in In Jin Yong's martial arts novels, Chen Jialuo is the chief rudder of the Red Flower Club, and the entire Red Flower Club has 15 branches. The 15 hall masters and Chen Jialuo formed a sworn alliance at the Red Flower Pavilion and swore an oath to overthrow the Qing Dynasty and return the Ming Dynasty to China. From then on, this organization was named the Red Flower Society, and its purpose was to fight against the Qing Dynasty and restore the Ming Dynasty.
The Qing Dynasty was a unified political power established by ethnic minorities in the Central Plains. The ethnic conflicts between the Han and the Manchus have been throughout the history of the Qing Dynasty. The one after another ethnic struggles have spread throughout the more than 300 years of Qing Dynasty history, all the time. They are all resorting to violent forms of armed resistance to solve problems. The Tiandihui was also a non-governmental organization that resisted the rule of the Qing Dynasty. It organized many small-scale peasant uprisings. However, like a small stone, it did not cause much trouble when it was thrown into the sea. There are only a few references to the Tiandihui in historical classics. The description does not have as many climaxes as written in the novel, but only a very small existence among countless anti-Qing and restoration organizations.
Art originates from life and is higher than life. Jin Yong’s novels once set off a trend of martial arts. I believe that every post-90s generation has a martial arts world of their own in their hearts. In The Book of Swords and Enmities, Chen Jialuo is the biological brother of Emperor Qianlong. This statement is of course extremely ridiculous in real history, but in the novel it creates an ups and downs plot for us and a more complicated and confusing story.
In the novel The Deer and the Cauldron, the Tiandihui is still a branch of the Zheng family in Taiwan and is their spokesperson in the mainland. In Jin Yong's martial arts novels, you can often see the shadows of Tiandihui and Honghuahui. They can freely move in and out between history and fiction, but they must not be confused with historical facts. These are two different artistic styles.
