"My life is just a warm madness. I have the sea in my eyes, but I refuse to be blue. "
At the beginning of the story, Wei Erlun and Rambo are sitting in the corner of the pub, drinking sea blue absinthe. They call it the poet's third eye, which can melt glaciers. Rambo raised absinthe, looked at Wei Erlun and asked, "Do you love me?"
"I love you." Wei Erlun answered firmly.
"Put your hands on the table, palms up." This time, Rambo stabbed Wei Erlun's palm with a knife.
Rambo is a boy born in the countryside, and his family is not superior, but it is such a "child touched by the fingers of the Muse" who has created one miracle after another.
There is no denying that Rambo is a talented poet and the originator of surreal poetry. Wei Erlun, a French poet, described his endless spiritual pursuit as "a poet walking in the wind", Malamei called him an "angel in exile", praised his poetic ideal as passionate and pure, and Camus, a writer and philosopher, called him "the greatest rebel poet".
Aside from these, in my eyes, Rambo is just a teenager with blond hair, a pair of pure and transparent blue eyes, a bright smile and a jade-like warmth. He is rebellious and frivolous, free and easy, and he spurns all indifferent, mediocre and carefree people.
He will run away from home, go straight ahead without a destination, just to see the outside world, stand on the table at poetry seminars, pee on manuscripts, and confide beautiful poems in his mouth when watching the sunset. Such people are like absinthe, which few people know. Just looking at it is like melting into the sunshine and sea breeze.
Another protagonist in the story is Wei Erlun. Contrary to Rambo, he is obedient, dependent and ambitious, but he always enjoys drinking. He is always drunk and says, "I don't want to hurt others." While abusing his wife, he woke up and knelt down for mercy, cowardly and disgusting. Rambo told him, "Don't insult the victim with an apology."
I think apologizing is only to relieve the psychological anxiety of the perpetrator, and it has no meaning to the victim. Being able to apologize is not a prerequisite for hurting others.
The appearance of people like Rambo has brought him a world that is not bound by rules and regulations. What Wei Erlun brought Rambo was understanding and appreciation. Rambo's poems are ahead of the times. Rambo's mother doesn't understand them. She just asked him if everything he did had a future, and so did others. He won't appreciate them if he doesn't understand them. In the most lost days of Rambo's life, Wei Erlun was the only one who gave him encouragement and praise from beginning to end. Today, Rambo's poems are finally recognized and appreciated by the world.
Rambo is like a bird flying towards the sun, fearless of the unknown road ahead, loudly praising the scenery along the way and criticizing the vulgarity and hypocrisy of the world. No one knows what bird it is, and no one finds it, because they are busy making a living.
Wei Erlun's poet feelings made him look up at the sky, so he found this nameless bird, saw his beauty, and couldn't help chasing him. He led Wei Erlun to the seaside, forests and grasslands. But Wei Erlun is just catching up. He can't let go of many things. He could only watch Rambo fly high and beg him, "Don't leave me."
Rambo burned his eyes by chasing the sun. Wei Erlun didn't dare to look directly at the sun and paralyzed himself with alcohol in the dark.
Rambo wants to be close to each other in his soul. He wrote in his poem: "My eternal soul is watching your heart, even if the night is lonely and the day is burning."
Wei Erlun only wants the body, because "loving the soul is not as important as loving the body. The soul is immortal, and there is enough time to love, but the body will rot."
Two people meet and know each other, but it is precisely because they are very different and are two extremes that this love is doomed to be a tragedy.
They argued many times. For the last time, Rambo got up and left angrily. Drunk Wei Erlun shot Rambo in the palm. Wei Erlun was jailed for it. /kloc-at the age of 0/9, Rambo gave up poetry and chose to wander around and become a businessman, eventually becoming the kind of person he spurned when he was young.
At the end of the story, Rambo's sister found old Wei Erlun, and she hoped that Wei Erlun would give Rambo's manuscript to her for safekeeping after Rambo's death.
After seeing Rambo's sister off, Wei Erlun sat alone in the bar and ordered two glasses of absinthe. In this way, things have changed, and the only constant is blue absinthe.
In a trance, Wei Erlun seemed to see the man sitting across the table and reached out and stroked him. The young man with white teeth and blue eyebrows and a smile in his eyes lazily raised a glass of absinthe and asked him, "Do you love me?" "I love you." "Put your hands on the table, palms up." He did as he was told. The boy leaned over and kissed his palm gently. Wei Erlun's muddy eyes were full of tears, and then he blinked and sat himself in the corner of the bar, quietly spreading his old hands.
Time always takes everything away inadvertently, an eccentric genius, a teenager who once wanted to chase the sun, and two fragile promises. In exchange for a lot of things, the times have changed, in exchange for a devastated self.
Rambo finally found the eternity he wanted.
What is eternity?
This is the sea and the sun.
Complement each other.
