"Read for the rise of China."
Comrade Zhou Enlai is the beloved prime minister of people of all ethnic groups across the country. He devoted his whole life to serving the country and the people, and died.
When he was a teenager, he was full of revolutionary ideals and determined to study for the rejuvenation of China.
In the summer of 1910, 12-year-old Zhou Enlai followed his uncle to Fengtian in Northeast China. He first studied at Tieling Yingang Academy for half a year, and later transferred to Fengtian Guandong Model School.
Once, the teacher asked the students to answer the question "Why study?" Some said, "I study for the sake of Mingli," some said, "I study for the sake of honoring my ancestors," and one student said, "I study to help my father keep accounts," which made the whole room burst into laughter. When the teacher asked about Zhou Enlai, he stood up and replied loudly and seriously: "Study for the rise of China." This fully expressed the young Zhou Enlai's grand ambition to study hard for the independence and prosperity of the motherland.
