Be a hero in life, and be a hero in death. I still miss Xiang Yu and refuse to cross Jiangdong.
In the minds of the Chinese people, "the winner is the king and the loser is the bandit" seems to be deeply rooted, but perhaps Xiang Yu is an exception.
Xiang Yu, famous name, courtesy name Yu. His father is Xiang Yan, a famous general of Chu State, and his uncle is Xiang Liang. Xiang Yu showed extraordinary talents when he was young. "Able to carry a cauldron and extremely talented" is how he is described. When Xiang Yu was young, his uncle once wanted to teach him calligraphy and swordsmanship. But he said: "Books are enough to record names and surnames. One person can be defeated with a sword, but learning is not enough. Learning to defeat ten thousand people is not enough." If you learn the art of war, you only know a little about its meaning.
Despite this, Xiang Yu had lofty ideals as a child. When Qin Shihuang traveled eastward, Xiang Yu looked at the grand momentum and said: "He can take his place." It can be said that without lofty ideals, there would be no Xiang Yu later.
Xiang Yu experienced no less than a hundred wars in his life, and many of them went down in history. The most famous among them are probably the Battle of Julu and the final Wujiang Suicide. In the early days of the Julu War, Xiang Yu was just a mere sub-general. But he couldn't stand General Song Yi's misguided military behavior, so he killed Song Yi, and later became a general himself. After the war began, Xiang Yu ordered the army to burn everything and fought with the main force of the Qin army with only three days of rations. Finally, the Qin army, which was several times larger than his own army, was wiped out, laying the foundation for the subsequent overthrow of the rule of the Qin Dynasty. How brave and decisive he was at this time. But such a great hero finally ended up committing suicide in Wujiang. He was ruthlessly mocked by history and threw away the country that was within his reach.
In the beginning, I always didn’t understand why Xiang Yu lost. A dignified hero is better than a rogue Liu Bang. Later, I gradually understood the inevitability that Xiang Yu would lose.
First of all, he is arrogant. With 400,000 elite soldiers, he may have never taken Liu Bang seriously, and never thought that Liu Bang would take away his country. He is also arrogant, always thinking that he is right and others are inferior to him, and he does not listen to other people's opinions at all. (He rarely adopted Fan Zeng's many suggestions.) At the Hongmen Banquet, he turned a blind eye to Fan Zeng's many suggestions. Even after Fan Zeng summoned Xiangzhuang, he still pretended to be dumbfounded. If, at the Hongmen Banquet, he could listen to Fan Zeng's advice and kill Liu Bang, then the future kingdom would definitely be his.
Also, he still has some common courage. When fighting, he just rushes to the front. This may boost morale, but fighting relies on military tactics and technology. From this point of view, when he was young, he Hou's refusal to learn the art of war was a big mistake, and it was normal for him to be surrounded and suppressed in the future. Knowledge also plays an important role in winning the war.
Finally, the most important thing is that he doesn’t pay attention to unity at all. He actually falls for a very simple counter-intentional plan by the enemy and drives away the only think tank around him. How can he not fail? . At any time, unity is the most important thing!
From Xiang Yu, we can learn: Humility, knowledge and team spirit are the keys to a person's success. We must keep in mind and make good use of these three points no matter what.
Of course, although Xiang Yu failed, his contribution to history is undeniable. No matter how you say it, he is a hero, a hero in the true sense.
