Wang Wei is a precocious writer. He wrote many excellent poems when he was a teenager. This poem was written when he was seventeen. Different from his later landscape poems, which are rich in painting and exquisite in composition and color, this lyric poem is very simple. But for thousands of years, people have read this poem when they are away from home, but they have strongly felt its power. This power comes from its simplicity, profundity and high generalization.
The poem is written because I miss my relatives in my hometown on the Double Ninth Festival. Wang Wei lives in Puzhou, east of Huashan Mountain, so the title is "Recalling Shandong Brothers". He was probably seeking fame in Chang 'an when he wrote this poem. Although the bustling imperial city was very attractive to young scholars who were enthusiastic about official career at that time, it was a "foreign land" for a young wanderer after all. And the more bustling and lively, the more lonely and friendless the wanderer is in the vast sea of people. The first sentence uses a word "unique" and two words "different", which is very sufficient. The author takes another approach: following the torrent of emotion, a rippling lake appears, seemingly calm, but actually deeper.
There is a custom of climbing on the Double Ninth Festival. It is said that you can avoid disasters by wearing cornus bags when climbing. Cornus, also known as Yuejiao, is a fragrant plant. Three or four sentences, if we just think about how brothers climb mountains and wear cornus on Chongyang Day, but they are alone in a foreign land and can't participate, although they write about their homesickness during the festive season, they will appear straight and lack novelty and affection. What the poet thinks in the distance is: "There is one less person in the dogwood." It means that brothers who are far away from home all wore cornus when they climbed the mountain today, only to find that one brother was missing ── he was not included. It seems that it is not a pity that I failed to spend the holiday with my brothers in my hometown, but that my brothers failed to reunite completely during the holiday; It seems that the situation of being a stranger alone in a foreign land is not worth telling, but the shortcomings of brothers need to be considerate.
