I am in my early thirties this year, but I have been a street vendor for six years. My life as a street vendor in recent years has given me a lot of insights. I am used to seeing too many street vendors being chased and humiliated by urban management. People who set up stalls hide from urban management every day. This is a compulsory course.
People in high positions see a good situation of stability and peace in the newspaper every day, and may not know the sufferings of the people.
I am a child from a poor family. In 1998, when Hubei was fighting floods, I scored more than 600 points in the college entrance examination. I remember that more than 600 points was the protection score of Hubei Province that year, so I was transferred to a key university in Wuhan. It used to be said that yue longmen, a carp, was admitted to such a university, which should mean that high-ranking officials are generous, holding golden rice bowls in their hands and cannot be broken, but it turns out that our generation is really a sandwich. Not the worst, but not much better.
In 2002, I graduated from college. I am proud of myself, and I am bent on serving the country and society with my own strength. At that time, the network was not as transparent as it is now, otherwise I wouldn't have taken so many detours.
When I graduated from college, I applied for the local newspaper. I thought that with my knowledge of hundreds of thousands of words in newspapers and magazines and thousands of passionate sentences in the test paper, I could win a place for myself, become an upright reporter and stand up for the people in the future. It's ridiculous to think about it now. Now in the face of unfair fate and bullying, the so-called urban management bullying the city, I don't even have a chance to shout for myself.
As you can imagine, I didn't step into the door of the newspaper as I wished, so I don't need to elaborate on the hidden rules. Now online media are disclosing all day. After the exam, I didn't even wait for the phone call or the notice of the exam results, or I didn't read these papers at all. It is worth mentioning that a classmate in my dormitory suddenly became the editor of the provincial newspaper because his father was a senior official of the provincial party Committee. He was addicted to playing games in the dormitory for four years in college and made no achievements in literary creation. As far as I know, he didn't even take the recruitment exam.
The so-called recruitment is just a cover for some people to enter smoothly, and those of us who don't know are just the stepping stones for others to openly enroll.
At the end of 2002, I arrived in the coastal area, which happened to meet the recruitment of civil servants in Guangdong Province. I think that when the coastal areas are developed, the system will be fair and transparent. I reported it to the public security bureau of a city in Guangdong province, and I have worked hard for it. During the written examination and physical examination of civil servants, I did countless questions to ensure the speed and accuracy of answering questions. In order to pass the physical examination safely, I spent more than a month running and climbing mountains during the day and practicing pull-ups and long jumps at night. As a result, my written test score was far ahead and I passed the physical examination. Unexpectedly, I fell down during the interview. I am very unwilling. When I posted the list that night, I looked at the scores. I only need to get 45 points in the interview, and I can get qualified comprehensive results. The interview score is only 35 points. And many candidates with poor written test scores actually scored 98,95 points in the interview. That night, I sat on the lawn of the Public Security Bureau, staring at the stars, and wanted to cry.
Fate played a big joke on me. It was not until recent years that the media suddenly exposed the inside story of many units and civil servants' recruitment, and I realized that the original failure was not accidental. What happened to me was also the same experience of thousands of people in Qian Qian.
Later, I also took the Shenzhen Customs Examination, and my written report card was mailed to me, so I didn't plan to interview. The public security bureau is still so, let alone a fat unit like the customs! In the past, the interview cost hundreds of dollars for travel, which was my rent and meal for one or two months.
I wanted to serve my country, but the country didn't open the door to his son.
In 2003, I went to the north and joined a state-owned enterprise. I stayed there for three years. 1999 The expansion of university enrollment has brought unprecedented pressure on college students to find jobs. In those years, the employment rate of 99% or even 100% of college graduates reported in newspapers and media all day was really unknown. If serving dishes and washing dishes in restaurants or even killing pigs and selling them to Sugar-Coated Berry are successful, then I really have nothing to say. GDP and employment rate are the most controversial issues in recent years. Local officials will use some bizarre data to whitewash Taiping, and some enterprises are nothing more than that, especially state-owned enterprises. The so-called "top-down effect" can really prevail in China. The so-called safe production and annual innovation and efficiency improvement of enterprises are all fabricated at random, so you can't help but believe it. I have been doing this for three years, and the leader has instructed you that there is no chance to question it. There is no difference between flattering state-owned enterprises and flattering officialdom.
Three years of corporate life, in addition to doing my best to complete my job, I don't forget to enrich myself. I calm down to work hard during the day and use my spare time at night and weekends. I soaked in the company library and wrote many articles. Many people can't imagine the corruption of state-owned enterprises. Not to mention extravagance and waste, the enterprise has raised a large number of idle people, and many people in our department only attend classes for two hours a day. Those limited two hours were even used to play games and chat. I often wonder how long a company can survive when its employees are corrupt enough to cheat on everything. Ten years? Twenty years? Ten or twenty years later, if I can't hold on, can I still adapt to the outside society? Three years later, I finally forced myself to make a decision. I had to leave there, so I resigned.
I was unlucky, but I didn't get involved, so I gave up on myself. I didn't become an angry youth, lamenting the injustice of heaven all day and blaming the party and the government; Don't be a bandit, steal and rob, and harm all directions. There is no way to serve the country. I know that I am old in this world and will be young in the future. My family is my responsibility, and I want to support my family with my hands.
We can't get into government departments, and companies that are too mediocre look down on themselves. The monthly salary is only enough to support yourself. After careful consideration, I made a decision that surprised many people: to set up a stall in Wuhan!
At first, I felt embarrassed. I'm afraid to meet my former teachers and classmates, and I feel uneasy. I dare not lift my head when someone comes to buy something. Later, I gradually calmed down. After all, people must first learn to survive. When it comes to suffering, you will feel that life is the first and face is the second. In this way, the days of setting up stalls staggered in the past, and it was six years in a blink of an eye.
In the past six years, I have to deal with local ruffians and village tyrants after hiding from urban management. With my own efforts and integrity, I finally achieved a little success in these six years at the expense of vicissitudes of life on my face and rheumatism on my legs. But I have no regrets. I am worthy of the sky and the earth. I support myself with my own hands. I don't think this is shameful.
Next, I want to talk about the places I have been to in recent years and what I have seen and heard in the process of setting up stalls. Those are the real experiences in my life.
No. Mo Lu 1, Guanshan Road, Hongshan District, Wuhan. There is the so-called Optics Valley Central Hub Station on Lumo Road, which is a place with huge traffic, so many people come here to set up stalls. It is rare to meet local ruffians and hooligans when setting up a stall here, but beware of urban management. Urban management in this area is notoriously fierce, grabbing things and hitting people. If a reporter friend happens to see this article, he might as well go there to interview it. There is no one who does not gnash his teeth at the chengguan. They usually come in a big Jinbei car, and nearly ten people rushed out of it in an instant, some in uniform and some in plain clothes. When they came, they were fierce and robbed everything, especially valuable goods. When there was a little resistance, ten people came forward to frame the stall owner together, and everything moved away, swearing at each other, and fighting with many people. For this kind of urban management bullying the people, pedestrians and businesses on Lumo Road are commonplace, and they will be numb if they watch too much.
2. Liming Village, Guanshan Avenue. There are village tyrants and urban management. Before demolition, a long street was called backstreet by students of Textile University. On these two long streets, there are many tents for rent to people who do small business. Each tent rents a few hundred yuan a month, and the money is collected by the village tyrant on a monthly basis. In the west of the south campus of Wuhan Institute of Technology, there is a middle-aged man driving a Dongfeng Da Yue Kia car. I used to look pale every time, as if I had just finished taking drugs. The east of the south campus of Wuhan Institute of Technology was taken over by a cripple with poor hands and feet. It is said that his father is a local underworld, and his disabled son continues to dominate here by virtue of his previous reputation. Later, the tent was demolished and turned into a roadside stall. The booth is still confined to that street. If there are stalls outside the stalls, the urban management will drive them away from the backstreet just because there are village tyrants in the backstreet. As for how to share the benefits with the urban management, it is unclear.
3. Guanggu Pedestrian Street. The urban management here is very dedicated, and there are often law enforcement vehicles waiting there at night 10. Street vendors can only see the needle, but it is commendable that the urban management in this place generally does not rob people and property.
4. Wuchang Institute of Technology, Jiangxia Avenue. Everyone habitually calls it Wuhan University of Science and Technology Central South Campus, which is also very complicated. Village tyrants and urban management collude openly. Because it is a suburb, business is not good and the cost is not particularly high. Every month, the urban management of each small booth receives 50 yuan, and the village tyrant receives 70 yuan. Every time there is a charge, the urban management goes to a large number of people, and the lineup is huge. They drive a big Jinbei car with the words "Urban Management Enforcement" printed on it, and tear up a small ticket for you after collecting money, which is even smaller than the bus ticket in Wuhan. I really don't understand how the urban management dares to openly collect protection fees here. Who gave them the right?
5. Wangtian Village, Liu Fang, where there is a Foxconn branch. The urban management of this place is no longer in charge after five o'clock in the afternoon, and the night time is charged by a village tyrant. This man named Tian is dark and thin, and he always speaks weakly. Everyone knows that he takes drugs. This is the weakest village bully I have ever seen. Many vendors in this place don't want to come once or twice, the fees are too high and the business is not good. Many people say that all the money earned by street vendors in one night has been paid for protection, and Tamura bully has taken drugs.
6. Dahualing University Town, Jiangxia District. This place is darker. Urban management and village tyrants take turns on duty during the day and at night respectively. When they saw someone setting up a stall, they grabbed it and didn't even give you a chance to talk. They even put down candied haws and pineapples. I happened to see them smash a tricycle full of fruit once, so I haven't been to this place once or twice.
7. Wulijie of Jiangxia Miaoshan. I have been to this place twice, which is very remote, but there are two unknown universities here. The village tyrants here are too powerful. As soon as you put your things out, some tattooed youths roared in a van and wouldn't let them out at all.
8. East Gate of Hu Quan Night Market Flower Market. The urban management of this street is also notorious. After so many years, I still can't change the habit of smashing stalls and hitting people. I remember a few years ago, I saw a cart selling pineapples being chased by them. Finally, a lot of pineapples were robbed and a lot fell off the ground. The car was smashed by them and the stall owner was knocked down. The scene was in chaos. I admire it. With hundreds of people watching, the urban management can still beat people without changing their colors.
9. Wuhan University of Technology, near Zhong Bai Warehouse. There are many students and residents here, and business is booming. Roads are often blocked, and even cars can't pass. There is also a fixed fee here. I don't know what the basis of the charge is, and where the charge finally goes.
10, near Wuhan University of Technology, Xu Dong. I have been to this place twice. There are many local ruffians and hooligans, and the urban management is fierce. People often come to grab a booth, which makes people feel that force is the last word.
1 1, Huangjiahu University Town, on Baishazhou Avenue. In the past two years, the control in downtown areas has been too tight, and many businessmen have come, and the booths have been set up for several miles. Village tyrants draw lines directly on the main roads and collect protection fees every month. In fact, business is not good, but it's okay. As long as you pay the protection fee, no one will bother you, saving you the trouble.
12, Minzu Avenue, between South Central University for Nationalities and Xiongjiazui. There are many students and residents in this place, and there are many booths, but if your booth is placed near the sidewalk of Minzu Avenue, there will be urban management to drive it away. The urban management here is the same as that of Lumo Road. Nearly ten people rushed down the big gold cup like a whirlwind, and without saying anything, they started to grab it directly, without any unnecessary remarks. The arrogance and ugliness of the expression are disgusting! Business people have to go to that alley to pay protection money. There used to be a village bully who also charged in the alley. Later, Xiongjiazui Hutong was demolished, all the residents moved away, and there was no business in the alley.
What I sell is the necessities of people's livelihood, and what I keep is small profits but quick turnover. Why are prices so high now? A bowl of 5 1 flour and noodles used to be 3.5 yuan. The wholesale price is only 20 yuan's goods, but the store can sell them for more than 100 yuan. People bought a bargain from me, and I made a little money, but they also benefited. Not everyone is at fault. I choose a place that will not affect the passage of pedestrians and vehicles and will not pollute the environment. Even the wrapping paper and waste plastic were packed and taken away. How can I illegally occupy the road? Where did the pollution come from? Where did the urban management get the right to rob people or even hit people? Is this a harmonious society? Civilized law enforcement is just empty talk. Now that the government has given urban management too much power, it may be said bluntly that the occupation of urban management has become a tool for some people to seek personal gain and get rich. Some time ago, I saw a famous saying: "I took off my clothes and lay in front of the camera to survive." And you stand in front of the camera dressed up for selfish desires and deception. "I think this passage is the most appropriate way to describe street vendors and urban management.
