Stepan Bandera was imprisoned in Germany on 1934. After World War I, Poland returned to the motherland and Galicia became the territory of Poland. From 193 1, Bandera became the spokesman of the nationalists, and was later appointed as the head of the local committee of the Ukrainian nationalist organization and the commander of the Ukrainian rebels. 1934, he was sentenced to death for organizing a plot to assassinate the polish minister of the interior, but soon after, he was sentenced to life imprisonment. He was released after the Byrd War in September. 1939.
