At that time, societies in various parts of Zhejiang were very active, showing great strength in the struggle against Qing rule and "xenophobia and extermination of religion". However, these societies are fragmented and do not belong to each other. How to link the scattered social organizations, guide them into the Guangfu Association and realize the great unity of the democratic revolution is an important topic before the Guangfu Association. Xu Xilin personally led several students to meet with Party leaders in various places. After two months' walking, I visited local guilds in Shengxian, Zhuji, Dongyang, Jinhua and Jinyun, got to know guild leaders such as Zhu Shaokang and Wang Jinfa, got in touch with progressives, expanded members and organizations, and made the Guangfu Association the leading core of Zhejiang's anti-Qing revolution.

Therefore, the idea of establishing a "armament school" to train the backbone of communist party came into being. 1905, Xu Xilin persuaded Xu Zhongqing, a wealthy businessman, to establish Datong School and invited Qiu Jin to preside over it. Lin Wenbiao, an expert in Shaoxing literature and history, believes that the establishment of Datong Academy is a very bright event in the history of the Revolution of 1911 and even the whole history of China, and its historical contribution can be comparable to that of the later Whampoa Military Academy. With the efforts of Xu Xilin and others, Datong Academy became the revolutionary command center at that time, and Xu Xilin became one of the actual leaders of the Guangfu Association.

Zhejiang-Anhui uprising

On the one hand, it was launched in Anqing and Shaoxing, two important places of the Qing Dynasty. This uprising dealt a heavy blow to the rule of the Qing dynasty, accelerated the constitutional process, inspired the revolutionary party's fighting spirit, and explored new ways of uprising.
