Before the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, some leaders’ offices were relatively large, with large spaces and large walls, so most of them had calligraphy and paintings hanging on the walls. The most popular poems are Chairman Mao's poems, and the most common content is "Spring Snow in Qinyuan".
In recent years, I have been to the countryside a lot, and I often see paintings like this in the offices or conference rooms of township leaders. Usually they are framed. Some are pyrography, some are gold-painted, and some are handwritten by celebrities.
After the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, there were strict regulations on office area, and leadership offices became much smaller. Basically, larger offices were used as small conference rooms.
The office of the leader of my former unit was only about 20 square meters. Behind him hung a calligraphy and painting, which was a calligraphy and painting by a famous artist in Beijing. It is written about "Nian Nujiao, Chibi Nostalgia". The characters are written in a flying and elegant style, which is indeed very beautiful. It is as if the artistic conception of this poem is depicted with characters.
But there seems to be particularity in what paintings to hang, and the artistic conception of the poems is even more telling. Even where the paintings and calligraphy are hung in the room, they all have meanings.
I searched "Nian Nujiao: Chibi Nostalgia" on Baidu, but it is actually not suitable for hanging in the office. After all, there are regrets in it.
"Nian Nujiao·Chibi Nostalgia" is the representative work of the Song Dynasty writer Su Shi and one of the representative works of the bold and unrestrained ancient poetry. The upper column depicts the scenery of the Yangtze River and its magnificent scenery. Xia Qian nostalgic for the past recalled the handsome heroes with extraordinary achievements, and expressed the thoughts and feelings of loving the mountains and rivers of the motherland, envying the ancient heroes, and lamenting that they failed to achieve their achievements.
It is said that calligraphy and painting cannot be hung on the wall behind you. This is called "carrying words". Just imagine, if a person memorizes words while away, will his luck be good? !
Traditional Chinese culture has Feng Shui, the Five Elements and Bagua, and the directions are all particular. I only have a superficial understanding of it. I don’t understand it more deeply, and I don’t dare to pretend to understand it.
Someone told our leader that it was not good to hang the calligraphy and painting behind his back. He listened to the advice and moved the calligraphy and painting to the wall opposite the desk.
Large banners are 3 or 4 meters long after being framed. If you don’t need a frame, it is also good to make a scroll collection after being framed.
Later, we all left our original units, and the leader said that it was a pity that others had taken away the calligraphy.
But the large frame with the long banner cannot be placed in ordinary homes.
Some offices have relatively simple four-character hanging paintings. The most common ones are "Honesty carries things", "The best is like water", and "Tranquility leads to the far-reaching".
Nowadays, most offices no longer hang paintings. The offices are small and there is not much room to hang paintings on the walls. It turns out that some of the paintings were hung in the larger conference room.
Just like the hanging paintings in small conference rooms in villages and towns, they used to be done by one person. The top leader works in a small conference room. There is a suite inside and a circle of sofas outside for reception.
The suite is now used as a duty room, with a small conference room outside, where general party committee meetings are held.
A very few people who like calligraphy and painting also hang framed banners in their offices. The content here is more personalized.
Some of the banners were written by famous calligraphers from provinces and cities, both horizontally and vertically.
I have collected several calligraphy works. My favorite is the four characters "Tao follows nature". Now I have 5 paintings of "Tao follows nature".
Teacher Yao Xingsheng from Beijing wrote a few calligraphy works for me some years later. His "Spring Snow in Qinyuan" was collected by the Great Hall of the People a few years ago. This time he wrote one for me. It is really a treasure. Very. He also wrote a painting for me called "Early Departure from Baidi City". The writing is really elegant and lively. It is very different from the font of "Spring Snow in Qinyuan". I like both of them very much. In recent years, I have been looking for Mr. Yao to write, and I have collected several of his works.
In the past few years, I was feeling a little stuck, so I asked Teacher Yao to write it.
"Walking to a waterless place, sit and watch the clouds rise." My favorite quotes.
