When we look at and deal with the relationship between "doing something" and "doing nothing" in the relationship between people and society, Lao Tzu has a famous saying that is worthy of our serious consideration and taste: "Governing a big country is like cooking a little fresh food" (Lao Tzu Sixty). What he means is that governing the country should be like cooking a small fish, so don't just flip it around. "Governing a big country" and "cooking small fresh food" are "promising", and it is "inaction" not to rummage and tamper.
