Rudyard Kipling (1865- 1936) is an English novelist and poet. He was born in Mumbai, India. His father was a teacher at Mumbai Art School, and later served as the principal and museum director of Lahore Art School. Kipling was sent to England at the age of 6, and returned to India at the age of 17 as the deputy editor of Lahore's Military and Political Daily. He keenly observed Indian customs, wrote some essays and poems, and published them in the newspaper where he worked. He returned to England in 1889, and within a year, he was regarded as one of the most outstanding prose writers in the contemporary era. 1892 moved to the United States after marriage, and published The Jungle Book, which is considered as a classic work of children's literature. These novels are also recognized as the best works of writers.
