Cause of death: Around the 13th year of Shaoxing, Li Qingzhao collated and compiled Zhao Mingcheng’s posthumous work "Inscriptions on Stone" and presented it to the court. More than ten years later, around the 26th year of Shaoxing or later, Li Qingzhao passed away quietly in extreme loneliness and desolation at the age of 73, with longing for his deceased relatives and infinite disappointment that he could not return to his homeland.
Li Qingzhao, named Yi'an Jushi, Han nationality, was from Zhangqiu, Qizhou. A female poet in the Song Dynasty, a representative of the Wanyue Ci School, she is known as the most talented woman throughout the ages.
Li Qingzhao was born into a scholarly family and lived a wealthy life in her early years. Her father, Li Gefei, had a rich collection of books. She laid a literary foundation in a good family environment when she was a child. After getting married, he and his husband Zhao Mingcheng devoted themselves to collecting and organizing calligraphy, painting and inscriptions. When the Jin soldiers invaded the Central Plains, they lived in the south and were in a lonely situation.
In the early stage of his poems, he mostly wrote about his leisurely life, but in the later stage, he mostly lamented his life experience and had a sentimental mood. In terms of form, he makes good use of line drawing techniques, creates his own channels, and uses clear and beautiful language. The argument emphasizes the law of association, advocates elegance, puts forward the theory that lyrics belong to a family, and opposes writing lyrics in the same way as poetry. He is capable of poetry, but not much remains. Some of his chapters are timely and historical, and his sentimental words are generous, which is different from his style of writing. There are "Collected Works of Yi An" and "Yi An's Ci", which have been lost.
Inheriting family learning
Li Qingzhao has lived in a family with a strong literary atmosphere since childhood. He has been influenced by his family's education, and he is intelligent and talented. The name of the poem is "brilliant and powerful, approaching the predecessors" (Wang Zhuo's "Biji Manzhi"), which was highly praised by Chao Buzhi (also known as Wu Jiu), a famous literary figure at the time and Su Shi's eldest disciple.
It is said in Zhu Bian's "Feng Yuetang Poetry Talk" that Li Qingzhao was "good at writing and especially skilled in poetry. Chao Wujiu often praised him as a scholar-official." The forty-sixth volume of "Shuo Yong" quotes "Rui Guitang Xia Lu" and calls her "highly talented and knowledgeable, with a modern ethics". Zhu Yu praised her in the separate volume of "Pingzhou Ke Tan" for her "classic poetry and prose, worthy of being an ancient author."
