Narcissa Malfoy.
She is my favorite villain.
My favorite quote of hers: Why? She believes in her choice. What she did and her poor life decisions are inexcusable, however, she does have an interesting backstory.
To others, she is snobbish, arrogant, and selfish.
Stop now. Love is selfish. Cruel, heartless, cruel, selfish.
Why is it her fault that she fell in love with Lucius Malfoy, a racist, cruel man? Why was it her fault for loving a son who was mentally, physically abused, and forced to do things he didn't want to do?
Why are you gesticulating?
I'm not trying to make excuses for what she did, but as a villain, I think her perspective is very reasonable.
This is how she grew up.
Yeah, that's not an excuse for why she did it, but it's a reason.
Harry Potter became who he was because of his life experiences and the people he grew up with. The same goes for Narcissa. She was supposed to be a purebred, poised Slytherin heiress.
I bet that she probably got married under the arrangement of others.
Despite this, she eventually fell in love with him and had a family that she loved. Despite all her faults, she still loved her children. Some people, no matter how selfless, don't love their children, which sometimes makes them look worse.
Yes, Narcissa is my favorite villain.
She acted entirely out of selfish motives, but not everyone is selfless. She has her priorities, just like everyone else. Why does it make her such a bad person just because her priority is her son and husband? If you're talking about her behavior, I can understand that, but there are a few factors to that. If you grew up and everyone told you that you had to look a certain way or that you were better than others, why wouldn't you believe the people closest to you? Why don't you trust your parents at such a young age?
Of course, I'm not trying to make excuses for her, but every opponent has their own story. Can you really say that all of the main characters in Harry Potter are completely selfless?
Did you realize anything? Harry Potter doesn't just start with a mother's love. It also ends with one.
