Caishanshui (local) Wang

Among the celebrities in modern Tianjin, I am very partial to Wang's works. Mr. Xin Ming is a painter and calligrapher admired by Hony Master Li Shutong. Just because his works handed down from generation to generation are few and far between, people who know him are rare in the whole country.

Wang (1870-1960), whose real name was Yin Sheng, was a juror of Ding You (1897) during Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty. Later, he abolished the imperial examination and became an aide. He has worked with Tianjin native Jin Lu for many years. Wang participated in local education in his early years and was one of the founders of Tianjin Girls' School. 1907, he founded the fourth girls' primary school in Tianqi Temple, Tianjin, which was the early girls' school in Tianjin after Yan Girls' School. 1926 expanded and rebuilt into a complete primary school. Since its establishment, he has been the principal for more than 20 years. Tianjin was founded on 1928. The following year, Deng Qinglan, the director of education, was hired as the director of education bureau. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), he served as a librarian of Tianjin Literature and History Research Institute.

As a famous educator in modern times, Wang devoted himself to running a school, which has been recorded in history. His accomplishments in painting and calligraphy are also extraordinary, and his landscape paintings are especially praised by the world. His paintings are taken from Shen Zhou, a famous French scholar. He mostly outlines trees and mountains with thick lines, which is natural and unrestrained, and his composition is delicate and broad. Mr. Lu commented that he is "informal, but full of majestic spirit". The author has two of his landscape paintings, which shows his painting attainments.

A painting, painted on 1936, is an ink landscape depicting a rainy day scene. The mountains in the painting are undulating and misty. At the foot of the mountain, the jungle is dense. The hut is located among the trees, beside the valley. The mountain stream is gentle, and there are small bridges on the stream. A man passed by with an umbrella on the bridge, as if to meet the gentleman in a hut. Static and dynamic are appropriate. Rough spots show the rain color in the mountains to the fullest. The inscription on the painting reads: "Heaven wants to imitate the Minang Palace, and the clouds are full of thick ink. Those who take the rain are short-covered, and the mountain village is full of forest air. " The inscription is "Bing Zichun in February, Wang wrote a parallel essay" and published Zhu Wen's "Sound". Painting beautiful poems is also beautiful, which makes people feel relaxed and happy.

The other is a large-scale color landscape painting made in 1950s, with a length of 153cm and a width of 38cm. This painting is skillful, fresh and elegant. On the picture, the mountains and rivers are magnificent and the mountains are towering. There are dense spring trees and flowing bridges nearby. There are rocks on it, and several houses and ancient temples are hidden among the trees. Climbing the distant mountain, I saw that its peak was not at its waist, and the mist was lingering, and the artistic conception was very quiet. As can be seen from this painting, the author mainly uses the combination of rich outline and ink smudge to create a beautiful aesthetic effect and give people a thrilling artistic enjoyment.

The author also has a pair of couplets written by Wang, the first part of which is Ping Zhuan and the second part is Zhu Xu. From the perspective of calligraphy, there is quite a foundation of Su Shi's calligraphy, and it is mixed with the vertical and horizontal trend of the Yellow Valley. The predecessors said that he was "able to write poems, especially good at linking words" and "especially good at breaking words, and he wrote plaques in many schools in Tianjin", which can be seen.

Speaking of this, we can't help but mention the relationship between a generation of masters and Wang's comments on Wang's paintings and calligraphy.

Collection of Works by Wang, Author of Colorful Landscape

Wang He and Li lived in the backstreet of Tianjin Grain Store when they were teenagers. Wang is older than Li 10 years old. They are close neighbors and close friends. When he was young, Li Shutong carved several seals for the king, which were treasured and used by Wang Yizhi. Wang founded the farming and reading society in his early years, and Li helped him out of his friendship and support for new education. I especially cherish Wang's paintings and calligraphy. Before he became a monk, he had a word fan given by the king, which has been carefully collected for many years. In 1939, Master Hongyi was six grades older. Shenshen Wang, who is in Tianjin, misses those who are far away in Fujian. He wrote a 32-sentence five-character poem, which poured out their friendship in youth and affirmed their love for epigraphy and the origin of poetry books.

Appreciate Wang's landscape paintings very much. According to my teacher, Mr. Zhang Mushi, when Wang Lao was alive, while sorting out Wang's paintings, Mr. Zhang found a silk landscape painting painted by Wang and a four-line poem written by a master. Wang asked him to paint a book with the original rhyme. Mr. Zhang titled it "Driving thousands of books in the Chest, Searching for Poetry in Goose Creek". I was drunk and dripping with ink, so I painted it where the smoke was floating. As for Mr. Wang's original poem, I can't see it today, but there is no doubt that Wang appreciates and cherishes the landscape in his poem.

"A rare person is not necessarily low-level". When buying calligraphy and painting, collectors should not only look at the titles, but also have their own opinions. "Follow my feelings" is the creed that I have always adhered to in my collection career for decades, and it is also the ideological motivation for my collection of Wang's works.
