Good and evil causes and consequences are all inspired by one's own heart. People in the world don’t know that the Buddha explained it in detail, but how smart are you to say that it was established by the Buddha? The retribution may come immediately, in the next life, or in many lives and kalpas. If you suspect that retribution will be far away, but want to order retribution quickly, you will have wrong views. It should be noted that the results of transcending the ordinary and becoming a saint, escaping from life and death, and even becoming a Buddha are all in many kalpas. Although it is said that it will take many kalpas to put down the butcher's knife, become a Buddha immediately, and realize the fruit of Buddhahood. And don’t take the realization of Buddha nature as a realization of Buddhahood. If it is as you say, then no one in the world can understand life and death, how much more can he become a Buddha. If you know this, you will not blame the Buddha for being cruel, but feel that the Buddha is compassionate and cry bitterly to express your sympathy. You think that you are not quick to report, but you do not know the great benefits of not being quick. It is a summer insect that does not know the ice, and a mayfly that does not know the future. It is not a pity. The delay and speed of the husband's retribution are all felt by his own karma, so how can he infer it to the Buddha?

With your intelligence, you know that there are still mistakes that you make intentionally and knowingly. It can be seen that although there are few mistakes, even a saint still needs to work hard. Therefore, when Confucius was seventy years old, he still wanted to take a holiday of five or ten years, in order to learn the Yi and avoid serious mistakes. Confucians have a shallow view and call themselves saints who are too modest, but do not know the depth of the holy way, which cannot be fully understood in just one moment. Not to mention the rest, based on the theory of Perfect Teaching, the first belief cuts off views, the seventh belief cuts away thoughts, the eighty or ninetyth belief breaks through the dust and sand, and subdues ignorance. After having ten faiths and breaking through one more point of ignorance, you will realize the first abode and become a great master of the Dharmakaya. From the first residence to the tenth residence, the ten activities, the ten directions, the ten places, and the awakenings, forty-one people have experienced it, but they have not yet reached the state of complete ignorance. When you awaken and break through one more point of ignorance, you will be able to completely eliminate all confusion and achieve the fruit of perfect Bodhi. The good retribution is far away, and the bad retribution is far away, so it should be the same. What's more, there is still time to cultivate the cause and realize the result, and even become a Buddha. If everything is done instantly, it will become a deep pit of annihilation without cause or effect. Regardless of the direction of heaven, the summer solstice is a yin and there is great heat, and the winter solstice is a yang and there is a great cold. The beginning of spring is either before the Chinese New Year or after the Chinese New Year. Then not all of them will be exhausted at the same time, and only then will they be able to complete the year. If they are all exhausted in one moment, they will not be able to move and will be destroyed. As for the rewards and punishments of sins and blessings, there are indeed people in the underworld who are in charge, but they are not as complicated as the underworld. Since the record books appear and disappear on their own, there is no one who has registered them and erased them, so there are no mistakes in the underworld. One night when I went to the underworld, I saw a book in which his wife had stolen and killed a neighbor's chicken, with the feathers weighing one pound and twelve taels, so I broke off the corner of the book to record it. Xing Xing asked his wife why he stole and killed his neighbor's chicken. His wife does not accept the responsibility. He said, "You are still hiding this from me. It is already recorded in the book of the underworld that you stole and killed the neighbor's chicken, and even the feathers weighed one pound or twelve taels." The wife said that when something was drying in the courtyard, the chicken came to eat it and threw it with something, and it died immediately before it was moved. The order is called, and the fruit is one pound and twelve taels. Order him to hold the chicken and give him the price of one chicken in return. Tell him his origin and pray that he will not be offended. When he looked at the book in the dark at night, the folded corners were still there and not a single word was left. If you use the punishments in the underworld as a punishment for the Buddha, you can be said to have failed the Buddha's grace. Your calligraphy is small and your eyesight is very dim. You should know that the great benefits you will receive begin with your children, continue to benefit your descendants, and end with the attainment of Buddhahood. If you do not consider yourself, study nature, physiognomy, Zen, and Tantric sects, and do not take reciting the name of the Buddha as your main task, you may be able to become a half-string family member and escape from birth and death in the Year of the Donkey. He is old and has no eyesight. He is not allowed to write to me again in the future. Even if he prays to the wonderful master to ask questions, he will not come back. Why, if you don't understand the three by citing one, even if you show them one by one, they will still be one, one, one, one, and you will not be able to understand them clearly.

If you think the retribution is too far away and want to make it happen quickly, this is a wrong view. We must know that the results of becoming a saint, transcending life and death, and even becoming a Buddha are all achieved through practicing for many lives and kalpas. Although it is said: Put down the butcher's knife and become a Buddha immediately. And to actually achieve Buddhahood, it must take many lifetimes and many kalpas. Don’t think that once you realize the Buddha nature, you will realize Buddhahood.

If it is like what you said, then no one in the world can survive life and death, let alone become a Buddha? If you understand these principles, you will not blame the Buddha for describing the consequences of the evil realms in such a cruel and tragic way. You should be grateful to the Buddha for his mercy and cry bitterly to tell his peers!

This is the wrong view that summer insects don’t know that there is ice, and that mayflies don’t know that there will be a future. How can we not make people sad? The delay in retribution is all inspired by one's own mental karma. How can one blame it on the Buddha and think that the Buddha is behind it?

With your intelligence, you still have the problem of deliberately making mistakes because you cannot control your own habits, even though you understand the truth. It can be seen that even a saint still needs to work hard to correct his mistakes. Therefore, when Confucius was seventy years old, he still wanted God to lend him five or ten years of life in the hope that he could study the Book of Changes and avoid serious mistakes. Confucian scholars have little knowledge and think that the saint is too humble and does not know the depth and breadth of the holy way, which cannot be fully realized as soon as he is awakened. Let’s not talk about the rest for now. In terms of Perfect Teaching, the first level of faith eliminates the confusion of view, the seventh stage of faith eliminates the confusion of thought, and the eighth, ninth, and tenth stages of faith eliminates the confusion of dust and sand, and subdues the confusion of ignorance. With the wisdom after the ten levels of faith, if you break through one more point of ignorance, you will achieve the status of Dharmakaya Master. From the first abode to the tenth abode, the ten lines, the ten directions, the ten grounds, and other awakenings, after forty-one stages, we have not yet reached the point where ignorance has been completely eliminated. If we eliminate even one point of ignorance, we can achieve the exhaustion of true nature. Ignorance is eradicated, and the Buddhahood of perfect Bodhi is achieved. This is the situation where good will be rewarded far away, and the situation where evil will be rewarded far away is the same as the situation where good will be rewarded far away. Not to mention that there is still time for many lifetimes and eons to cultivate causes, realize effects, and even become a Buddha? If the karma and consequences of everything can be resolved in a moment, we will fall into the deep pit of causeless and decisive destruction of wrong views.

Don’t you see how the way of heaven is moving? The summer solstice has the longest day, and the anode creates a yin, so the weather is very hot; the winter solstice has the longest night, and the cathode creates a yang, so the weather is very cold. The beginning of spring is sometimes before the Chinese New Year, sometimes after the Chinese New Year. These solar terms will not all appear at the same time, so that they can run into the seasons of the year. If they all appear at one time, then the way of heaven will not be able to operate and will become extinct.

As for the rewards and punishments of sins and blessings, there are indeed people in charge of the underworld, but it is not as complicated and difficult as the underworld. Because the files and books appear and disappear automatically, no one records or cancels them, so there are no mistakes in the underworld. Master Ou Yi's "Records of Experiences" records that there was a scholar in Hubei who took charge of the five palaces of King Yama. One night when he went to the underworld, he saw an account book, which recorded that his wife had stolen and killed a neighbor's chicken. Even the chicken feathers weighed twelve taels per catty (in ancient times, sixteen taels were considered one catty), so he folded the account book. A mark was made on the corner. After waking up, he asked his wife why he killed his neighbor's chickens. His wife denied it. He said: You are still hiding it from me. It has been clearly recorded in the account books of the underworld that you stole and killed the neighbor's chickens, including the chicken feathers, a pound and twelve taels. His wife had no choice but to say: There was something drying in the yard, and the neighbor's chicken came to eat it. I threw something at it and killed the chicken without touching it.

The couple went to weigh the chicken, and it turned out that it weighed twelve taels per catty. So he asked his wife to take the dead chicken and the price of one chicken back to the neighbors, explain to them the reason, and ask them not to blame. That night I went to the underworld to look at the account book. The folded corners of the account book were still there, but not a single word on it was gone. You think that the punishment in the underworld was arranged by the Buddha, but you have failed the Buddha's grace too deeply!

Because you are not someone who can draw parallels by giving an example. Even if I teach you one by one, you will still keep asking one question after another, and you will not be able to understand it comprehensively.
